    Mary M. Regner, 93, of Gaylord, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington.
   Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gaylord. Burial will be in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
   Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday followed by a rosary at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

   Virginia V. Alwin, 89, of Flagstaff, Ariz., died Friday, April 6, 2001, at her home.
   Her ashes will be placed in the family plot in the New Ulm cemetery.
   She is survived by nieces and their spouses, Audrey and Lloyd Reichstadt of Flagstaff, Ariz., Sharon and Merle Heard of Lake Wilson; nephews and their spouses, Dean Minnett of Ruthon, Jerry and Karen Minett of Ruthon, Jack and Joyce Alwin of Minnetonka, Michael Alwin of Stillwater and Roger Erickson of Bloomington.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd and Wilbur Alwin; and sisters, Winona Erickson, Olive Minett, Myrtle Alwin and Evelyn Beesskow.
   She was born April 14, 1911, in New Ulm, to Edward and Anna (Schneider) Alwin. She graduated from Hamline University in 1933, with a B.A. degree. She earned a master's degree from the University of Iowa in 1946 and a doctorate in English education from the University of Minnesota in 1958. She taught English at Northern Arizona University. She wrote high school textbooks. She was selected Arizona English Teacher of the Year in 1976. During retirement, she volunteered for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Flagstaff.
   

   Rose A. Prokosch, 96, of Lamberton, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home Thursday.
   She is survived by daughter, Elaine and her husband Albert Reiner, of Springfield; son, Tom, and wife Margie Prokosch of Comfrey; 22 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Verna Rein of Shakopee; and sister-in-law, Leah Hillesheim of Forest Lake.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Hillesheim; husband, John "Jack" Prokosch; son, John, and wife Trudy Prokosch; grandson, Todd Prokosch; granddaughter, Connie Prokosch; brothers, Hubert Hillesheim, Leonard Hillesheim, Herman Hillesheim, Arthur Hillesheim, Henry F. Hillesheim, Nick Hillesheim and Edwin "Sam" Hillesheim; and sisters, Margaret Busch and Kathryn Rubey.
   She was born Jan. 2, 1905, in Stark Township, Brown County, to Joseph and Margaret (Mertz) Hillesheim. She attended country school in Iberia and St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. She married John Prokosch on Jan. 15, 1924, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. She farmed with her husband and family until 1958. She then became a housekeeper for several priests. She was also a cook at the Comfrey Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society.

   Minnie C. Meyer, 101, of Arlington, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
   Services are 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arlington. Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
   Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
   The Fenske Funeral Home, Arlington, is handling the arrangements.
   She is survived by her sister, Elsie Luff, of Arlington; niece, Pauline Wiemann; and nephews, Robert Wiemann, Gene, Donald, Glen and Kenneth Luff.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Freda Wiemann; and two brothers in infancy.
   She was born July 11, 1899, in Arlington Township, Sibley County, to John and Paulina (Frenzel) Meyer. She attended 11 years of school. She held many jobs throughout her life. She taught country school. She worked at Dayton's in Minneapolis, at the former Union Mercantile in Arlington, at the Arlington Creamery, at Central Telephone Company as an operator and at the Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington. She was a member of the St. Paul's Mission Club and the Arlington Garden Club.

   Patricia A. Scheffler, 57, of rural Olivia, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Redwood Area Hospital.
   Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Morton with burial in the Beaver Falls Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and continues 8:30-11 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by her husband, Theodore "Ted" Scheffler of Olivia; children, Russ and his wife Kathy of Lino Lakes; Linda and fiance Matthew Virnig of Yucca Valley, Calif.; brother, Ed Brooks of Olivia; sister, Marilyn Lindeman and husband Myron of Redwood Falls; nephews and nieces; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Irma Brooks; parent-sin-laws, Henry and Marge Scheffler; sister-in-law, Patricia Brooks; and brother-in-law Richard E. Scheffler.
   She was born Dec, 7, 1943, in Olivia, to Raymond and Irma (Bowers) Brooks. She graduated from Olivia High School in 196 1. She worked at Jordahl Dental Clinic for five years. On Feb. 26, 1968, she married Theodore Scheffler at Morton. They farmed in Norfolk Township. She was an active member of The United Methodist Church in Morton including teaching Sunday School, leading UMYF and holding various church offices. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Bloodmobile and served as president of the Beaver Falls Cemetery Board.

   Esther Christman, 90, of St. James, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at St. James Health Services Hospital.
   Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in St. James with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-9 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, and continues one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
