Ruth Troldahl, 90, of Janesville, died Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home, Waseca. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Janesville, with burial in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hanska. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Homes, Janesville, and will continue Monday one hour prior to services at the church. She is survived by sons, Oather and wife Ann of Janesville, and Dayle and wife Harriet of Gaylord; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son Verling; a brother; and a sister. She was born Oct. 7, 1909 in Lafayette, to Frank and Ruby (Erickson) Peterson. She attended school in New Ulm, graduating in 1928. She worked at Esser's Cafe. She married Oscar C. Troldahl on Nov. 14, 1930 in Lafayette. They lived in Hanska, where she worked as an assistant telephone operator. They moved to Henderson after purchasing the Henderson Independent Newspaper, which they operated until 1956, earning several state and national press association awards. They moved to Janesville in 1956, where they purchased the Janesville Argus, which they published until 1971, when they retired. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Lutheran Church, Janesville. She was also active in Meals on Wheels, Janesville Neighborhood Birthday Club, the Over 60 Band Spouse Club, Bridge Club, and the Sibley County Historical Society. Margaret Tauer, 92, of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, April 27, 2000 at New Ulm Medical Center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She is survived by daughters, Millie and husband Walter Connelly of Rochester, and Josephine and husband Melvin Rose of Sleepy Eye; sons, Donald and wife Peggy of Downey, Calif., and Jerry of Kent, Wash.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Cecilia Kassner of Garrison, N.D.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George; and brothers. She was born Sept. 19, 1907 in Rib Lake, Wisc., to John and Margaret (Kraus) Reznicek. As a teenager she moved to New Ulm with her parents. She married George F. Tauer in November 1927 in Sleepy Eye. The couple lived in Sleepy Eye, where she worked at Del Monte and Pietrus Foods. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the CCW. Dean Henschke, 35, of Bird Island, died Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Renville County Community Residence, Bird Island. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Buffalo Lake, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the church, and will continue one hour prior to services. Arrangements were handled by Raymond D. Hughes Funeral Home, Hector. He is survived by his mother Flossie of Buffalo Lake; sisters, Diane Wald and husband Steven of Sedona, Ariz., and Denise Hentges and husband Bill of Andover; nieces, Stephanie Wald of Sedona, and Catherine Hentges of Andover. He was preceded in death by his father Virgil; grandparents; aunts; uncles; and many other relatives. He was born Aug. 21, 1964 at Olivia, to Flossie and Virgil Henschke. He graduated from Sauk Centre School in 1985. He lived on a farm in rural Buffalo Lake until 1971, when he moved to Cedarvale Child Care Center, Austin. In 1979, he moved to Dorothy Lake Home, Sauk Centre. In 1986, he moved to Renville County Community residence, Bird Island. he worked at Adult Client Training Services, Olivia. Ida Herwick, 98, of Bozeman, Mont., formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999 in Bozeman, Mont. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2000 at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery. She is survived by daughter Gretchen Kleimer of Bozeman; son Bill and wife Jane of Honolulu, Hawaii; brother Fred and wife Esther Zimanski of Hutchinson; sister Minnie Lander of St. Paul; son-in-law Charles Watson of New Brighton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Emil; daughter Marge; brothers, Leonard and Alfred; and sisters, Pauline and Aluena. She was born March 29, 1901 in Sleepy Eye, to Louis and Emma Zimanski. She grew up on the family farm and attended school through the eighth grade. She married Emil Herwick on Aug. 11, 1925 in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Sleepy Eye. After Emil died in 1980, she moved to Coupeville, Wash. to be near her son Bill. She moved to Bozeman in 1992 to be near her daughter. Adela Ann Wisch, 88, of Arlington, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, Arlington, with burial in the city cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, and 8-11 a.m. Monday at Fenske Funeral Home, Arlington, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Monday. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She is survived by son Larry and wife Mary of Winthrop; daughters, Carol and husband Don Dahl of Eagan, and Phyllis and husband George Kroehler of Arlington; sons-in-law, Al Budahn of Darwin, and Earlyn Sickmann of Eden Prairie; sisters, Orvilla and husband Lester Dammann of Glencoe, and Rosella Gramith of Richfield; sisters-in-law, Agnes Schrupp of Young America, and Lillian Schrupp of Buffalo Lake; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was born May 5, 1911 in Young America Township, Carver County, to John and Augusta (Laser) Schrupp. She married Ernest F. Wisch on Oct. 12, 1935 in rural Jackson. They farmed in Dryden Township, rural Arlington. She lived on the farm after Ernest died in 1971. She moved to Arlington Good Samaritan Center in 1996. Earl L. Moll, 82,of 716 North Garden, New Ulm, died Friday, April 28, 2000 at the New Ulm Medical Center . Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Oakwood United Methodist Church, New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Moll of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Connie Moll, Richard and Marlys Moll, all of rural New Ulm; grandchildren, Stacee Moll, Heidi Moll, Lauri Moll, Eric Moll, Lois Moll; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Hazel Moll of Longville, Armon and Ruth Moll of New Ulm; sister-in-law, Violet Moll of Willmar; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hugo Moll, and Edgar Moll; and his step-mother, Nellie Pickle. He was born Nov. 28, 1917 in Milford Township, Brown County to Arthur and Minnie (Vogel) Moll. He married Evelyn Geske on April 26, 1946 at Bethel Evangelical Methodist Church in New Ulm. They farmed on the family farm in Milford Township, Brown County until 1979 when they retired and moved to New Ulm. He was a past District 9 school board member in Milford Township, Brown County, a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm and a member of the choir at church. Otto Carl Ohlemann, 78, of Springfield, died Friday, April 28, 2000 at Springfield Medical Center, Springfield. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, with burial in St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. He is survived by son Mike of Delbo; daughters, Theresa of Springfield, and Mary and husband Tom Schroeder of Springfield; step-son Butch "Tony" and wife Beverly Guza of Sleepy Eye; step-daughter Sandra and husband Marlan Buhr of Worthington; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann King of New Haven, Lucille Sandbo of Springfield, Martha Fonken of New Ulm, and Ruth Kaseforth of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alice; sisters, Ada Batzlaff and Florence Anderson; and brothers, Martin, Harold, and Edward. he was born July 26, 1921, in Charlestown Township, Redwood County, to Carl D. and Therse (Ork) Ohlemann. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 in the African and European Theatres. He has lived in Springfield since 1946, and was a partner with Wally Radtke in the Radtke and Ohlmann Construction Company. he married Alice Garrow on March 31, 1949 in Springfield. He was street superintendent in Springfield for 20 years, retiring in 1982. He moved to St. John Lutheran Home in March 1998. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sanborn, the John Watson American Legion Post, Springfield, and V.F.W. Post 800, Sleepy Eye. He served on the Springfield City Council for a few years. Gertrude Lager, 92, of Roseville, formerly of Winthrop, died Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Fairview University Hospital, Minneapolis. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Bernadotte Lutheran Church, Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church Monday. Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Winthrop, was in charge of arrangements. She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Jones and husband Robert of Shoreview, and Jeanne Lager and husband Richard Ahlgren of Plymouth; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Allen; and brother Anthony Pirmantgen. She was born April 17, 1908 in New Ulm, to William and Mathilda (Krause) Pirmantgen. She graduated from Cathedral High School, New Ulm. She worked in New Ulm until 1930, when she moved to Highmore, S.D., where she did clerical work at an Indian Mission. She moved to Mankato in 1935, where she worked in a photography shop. She married Allen P. Lager on July 30, 1938. They lived in Bernadotte. She moved to the metro area in 1989 to be close to her daughters. She lived in New Brighton and Roseville. She was a member of Bernadotte Lutheran Church. Felix A. Steffen, 89, of Sleepy Eye died Friday, April 28, 2000 at the Divine Providence Home in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home.
