   Blanche I. Hudson, 83, died Friday, April 30, 1999 at Lake View Memorial Nursing Home, Two Harbors.
   Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Finlayson, with burial in Finnish Lutheran Cemetery.
   Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and will continue noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
   Arrangements are handled by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
   She is survived by son Leon and wife Jean of Two Harbors; daughter JoAnn Gembala of Sebastopol, Calif.; brother Ralph Runge of Paynesville; sister Ione Stein of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Matthew Gembala, Jody and husband Dave Sorlein, Kevin and wife Leanna Hudson, Scott and wife Diane Hudson, and Mark Hudson; great-grandchildren, Nick, Benjamin and Natalie Hudson; and many friends.
   She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1989; and sister Ethel Koenig.
   She was born Feb. 17, 1916 in St. James, where she grew up and attended St. James High School. She married Leo P. Hudson on July 3, 1937 in Spencer, Iowa. During World War II, the couple lived in Tacoma, Wash., where she worked as a sheet metal worker. They later moved to the St. James/New Ulm area, where she worked at 3M. In 1968, they moved to Pine Lake Township near Finlayson, where they farmed. She worked for 3M in Pine City before retiring. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Finlayson.

   Dwayne E. Maas, 62, died Saturday, May 1, 1999 at home.
   Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, LaCrosse, Wis. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Nicollet.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, La Crosse, and will continue Wednesday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
   He is survived by his wife Luann; father Emil of Dresbach; and numerous cousins.
   He was preceded in death by his mother in 1983.
   He was born Oct. 6, 1937 in Nicollet to Emil and Esther (Rudenick) Maas. He married Luann Roeder on May 30, 1964 in Nicollet. He was a 1955 graduate of Nicollet High School and received a bachelor and master's degree in business from Mankato State University. He had been employed in various management capacities at the Trane Company, Toro, Coopers and Lybrand and Hawkins, Ash, Baptie and Company. He retired in 1992. He was a member of the Dresbach Township Board and was the current chairman. He also served on several Winona County boards and committees.

   James 'Kenny' Johnson, 80, of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday May 2, 1999, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
   Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
