Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evangelical Covenant Church, Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation will be 8-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Winthrop, is handling arrangements. A complete obituary will appear in a later edition of The Journal. Howard Hanson, 91, of Gaylord, died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Arlington Municipal Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Norwegian Grove Lutheran Church, rural Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and at the church, one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are pending with Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord. A complete obituary will appear in a later edition of The Journal. Marlene Hansena, 61, of rural New London and formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday at Rice Memorial Hospital Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Willmar, with burial at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Nicollet. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home, Willmar, and Monday at the church, one hour prior to services. She is survived by her husband, Wallace, children: Robert (and Cindy) Hansen, Le Sueur, Karen (and Kurt) Odegard, New Ulm, and Ronald (and Joy) Hansen, Nicollet; six grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; a sister Elaine and Derald Edwards, New London; and brother, Marvin Fennern, St. Paul, nieces, nephews and cousins, She was preceded in death by her parents. She was born on Jan. 1, 1940 at Springfield, Minnesota to Herbert and Aurelea (Fenger) Fennern. In 1951 their family moved to New Ulm where she attended St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School. They later moved to Nicollet where she graduated from Nicollet High School in 1958. Following graduation she moved to St. Peter where she worked at ADC. On March 5 1960, she was united in marriage to Wallace Robert Hansen at Nicollet Lutheran Church. They lived in Nicollet until 1963 when the moved to New Ulm. Marlene worked at Kraft, retiring with 31 years of employment in 1996. After their retirement they moved to the New London area and she worked part time for Rambo's in New London.
