Bert Schapekahm, 68, Mayor of New Ulm, died May 18, 2000, at Methodist Hospital, Rochester. Services are tentatively set for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is tentatively scheduled for 4-9 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at Firle Funeral Home, and continuing one hour before the service Monday at the church. Warren Bakken, 62, of Waconia, formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Victorious Lutheran Church in Chaska with burial in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia; and at the church one hour before the service. There will be a chapel service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Rebecca and Dr. Randel Stolee of Perham; Scott and Mary Jo Bakken of Okinawa, Japan; Cynthia and Rev. Gene Lilienthal of Brownsburg, Ind.; Steven and Wendy Bakken of Waconia; 14 grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Maynard and Carolyn of Garfield, Roger and Sharon of St. Paul, Gordon and Ruby of Minneapolis, Wayne and Cookie of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; Darwin of Sacramento, Calif; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wendolyn and Don Dressel of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and Ialda Schramm of South St. Paul. He was born Aug. 8, 1937 in Linden Township, Brown County, to Marvin and Gladys Anderson. He was a 1955 graduate of New Ulm High School. Dorothea Jordan, 100, of Redwood Falls died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Wood Dale Nursing Home. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today Friday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. She is survived by sons; Donald of Redwood Falls, John and wife Verna of Redwood Falls and Alex and wife Arlene Jordan of Waubay, S.D.; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and sister Helene Wittwer of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Arthur and Ernest; sisters, Emma and Frieda; and a granddaughter Denise. She was born on Jan. 16, 1900 in Janesville, to Max and Bertha (Heuer) Arndt. She moved to Redwood County with her family as a young girl and attended country schools. On Oct. 14, 1926, she married Otto Jordan at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. They farmed southwest of Redwood Falls until retiring in 1977 and moving into Redwood Falls. Otto died on May 21, 1983. She entered the Wood Dale Nursing Home in 1987. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and served as church organist.
