   Gladys Zachow, 93 of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, May 22, 1999 at the Redwood Falls Hospital.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Zion, Middle Creek Cemetery, Renville County.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
   She is survived by her children, Maxine J. Norris of Duluth, Dellis Schroeder of Danube and Kenneth Prodoehl and wife Phyllis of rural Renville; 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and five sisters.
   Gladys Sophie Zachow was born March 18, 1906 in Henryville Township, Renville County, to Henry and Ida (Schroeder) Becker. At the age of 2-1/2 years she was adopted by Herman and Rickie (Prodoehl) Becker. She resided with her family in Henryville Township and received her education from Bechyn Country School. On Aug. 27, 1924 she married Charles August Zachow on the home farm in Henryville Township. They lived in Henryville Township until 1952 when they moved to rural Olivia. In 1964 they moved to Floodwood. Charles died in September 1971 and Gladys moved into Lakeside Manor in Redwood Falls in 1972. Gladys was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls and a former member of the EUB Middle Creek Church. She was very active in her church including U.M.W., Sunday School Teacher, circle, sang in church choir and sang in a trio over the Willmar Radio for many years.

   James Baier, 55 of 1615 N. Jefferson St., New Ulm, died Friday, May 21, 1999, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
   Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Burial will follow at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm. A parish prayer service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
   Survivors include his wife Dolores of New Ulm; daughters, Jill Zupfer and her husband Rob of New Ulm, Sherry Bottenfleld of Albany, Ga.; sons, Gregory Baier and his wife Louise of Andover, Tony Baier of River Falls, Wis.; two grandchildren; his mother Estelle Baier of New Ulm; a brothe,r Darv Baier and his wife Jean of Bentonville, Ark.; a sister LaDonna Alfson of New Ulm; mother-In-law Grace Welke of New Ulm; brothers-in-law Roger Welke and his wife Monica of Madelia, and Jerry Welke of New Ulm; sisters-in-law Leatrice Ellanson and her husband Duane of New Ulm, Sharon Miller and her husband Jerry of Hanska, and Lonnie Weiseler and her husband Jim of Benson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded In death by his father.
   James Raymond Baier was born Nov. 2, 1943 In New Ulm, the son of Anton and Estelle (Suess) Baier. He grew up in New Ulm and graduated from Cathedral High School In 1961. Soon after, he entered the United States Air Force. He married Dolores Welke on May 4, 1968 in Madelia. He worked for Kraft Foods In New Ulm from 1968 to 1980. That year, the couple moved to Albany, Ga. where he worked for the Miller Brewing Company until 1992. He then worked for the Keebler Co. In Atlanta until 1996. They moved to Woodbury later that year. He worked for Stroh's Brewery In St. Paul, until illness forced his retirement. The couple moved to New Ulm in December 1997. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, and the Izaak Walton League. Memorials are preferred to the Luekemia Society, American Cancer Society, or the Izaak Walton League.

   Luverne C. Mittelstadt, 78 of Waseca died Friday, May 21,1999 at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea.
   Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca, with burialat Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
   He is survived by sisters, Adeline Mittelstadt and Ruth Mittelstadt (who teaches in New Ulm), both of rural Waseca. He was preceded in death by his parents.
   He was born in Otisco Township, Waseca County, on May 3, 1921to August and Clara (Helms) Mittelstadt. He attended rural Waseca County school. He entered the U.S. Army in 1946 and served until being discharged in 1947. Following his discharge be returned to Waseca and worked at Swift & Co. in Waseca and then the Otisco Creamery. He then farmed the home farm in Otisco Township, Waseca County for many years. He also drove the road grader for many years in Otisco Township. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Otisco, the Waseca VFW and Military Order of the Cooties and was a past member of the Waseca Eagles.

   Leona "Onie" Miller, 72, of Sanborn, died Saturday, May 22, 1999 at her home.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers with burial in St. John's Cemetery, Germantown Township, Cottonwood County.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by her children: Daniel and wife Deb Miller of Hastings, David and wife Lori Miller of Sanborn, and Patty and husband Gary Mude of Sanborn; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband Dean in 1998, a brother Russell and twin sisters in infancy, Irene and Lucille.
   She was born May 4, 1927 in Stately Township, Brown County to Albert and Esther (Becker) Thram. She grew up on the family farm in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County and attended country school.
   On June 17, 1947, she married Dean E. Miller at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown Township. The couple made their home on a farm in rural Sanborn where they farmed for 49 years. They retired in 1996 and moved into Sanborn. Leona was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid.
