   Byron W. Rudell, 66 of 309 South Broadway in New Ulm died Saturday, May 29, 1999 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery, Soldier's Rest Section. Full military rites will be
   conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
   He is survived by his wife, LaVonne Rudell of New Ulm; daughters, Debbie Heinz and her husband Vince of Shakopee, Darcy Rudell and special friend, Blaine Hennen both of New Ulm; sons, Bill Rudell and his wife Mary of Rapid City, South Dakota, Bob Rudell of New Ulm; and six grandchildren;mother-in-law, Hattie Bolduan of the Lafayette Care Center in Lafayette; sisters, Jeanette Foltz of Pico-Riveria, Calif., Joyce Erickson of Whittier, Calif., Shirley Benrick of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Wally and his wife Doris Rudell of Whittier, Calif.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Pauline Rudell of Monticello, Calif., Glen and Cleo Bolduan, Ron and Linda Bolduan all of New Ulm; many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd and Russell Rudell; brothers-in-law, Glen Benrick, Herb Foltz, Murray Erickson.
   Byron was born October 18, 1932 in St. Peter to Walfred and Georgia (Leonard) Rudell. He attended St. Peter Public Schools. He married LaVonne Bolduan on Dec. 4, 1953 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 as a tank driver. He worked as a mechanic for Retzlaff's in New Ulm, then at Knopke Motors as the parts manager, and then in the maintenance department at Martin Luther College. Most recently he worked for South Central Cleaning in New Ulm and he also cleaned for the American Legion in New Ulm.
   He was a member of the American Legion Post #132 in New Ulm and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.

   Louise Luepke, 82, died Sunday, May 29, 1999 at Parkview Home, Belview.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Echo, with burial in the city cemetery.
   Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Echo, and will continue Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church.
   She is survived by her sons, Alvin and wife Wanda of Echo and Melvin and wife Kathy of Bemidji; daughters, Alvina Omtvedt and husband Myron of Lake George, June Krause and husband Larry of Echo, Violet Alvheim of Plymouth and Linda Cole and husband Darrel of Vesta; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and brother Joseph Gunderson of Hector.
   She was preceded in death by her husband Gerhold; son Marvin; son-in-law Marvin Alvheim; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Arthur, Clarence, Henry, Marvin and Ole.
   She was born on Oct. 4, 1916 in Emmett Township, Renville County, to Martin and Helena (Miller) Gunderson. She grew up in Renville County and attended District 15 country school. She married Gerhold E. Luepke on Aug. 18, 1935 in Vesta. They farmed south of Echo in Echo Township until moving into Echo in 1973. They spent winters in the Donna, Texas area for many years. Gerhold died in 1982 and Louise entered Parkview Home in December, 1993. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and the American Legion Auxiliary.

   Magnus Netzke, 82, of Route 2, Nicollet, died Monday, May 31, 1999 at
   his home.
   Funeral arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet.

   Alyce Krzmarzick, 85 of Sleepy Eye died Sunday, May 30, 1999.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, with a Christian Mother's Rosary 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service 7 p.m., and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
   She is survived by sons, Marvin J. and wife Alice of Burnsville, Dale and wife Dorothy of Sleepy Eye, Joel of Mankato and Randall and wife Pamela of Sleepy Eye; daughters JoAnn and husband Tom Seifert of Sleepy Eye and Judy of Worthington; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Everett and wife Marie of Sleepy Eye and Cliff and wife Helen of Bloomington; sisters, Ordell and husband Terrance Krambeer of Sleepy Eye, Marcella and husband Joseph Kestner of Albert Lea and Ann Marie West of Denver, Colo.; brother-in-law Linus G. and wife Angeline of Sleepy Eye; and sisters-in-law Agnes Kessler of Shakopee, Irene Utz of Springfield, Gladys Hoffmann of Sleepy Eye and Alice and husband Gerald Schumacher of Comfrey.
   She was preceded in death by son Dean in 1974; husband Sylvester in 1998; sister-in-law Martha and husband Anton Moldan; and brothers-in-law John Kessler, Otto Utz and Leo A. Hoffmann.
   She was born March 3, 1914 in Home Township, Brown County, to John and Anna (Haala) Soukup. She attended country school. She married Sylvester F. Krzmarzick on Sept. 18, 1934 in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home and farmed in Leavenworth Township on the family's farm. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, the Christian Mother's Association, the Catholic Aid Association and had been active in 4-H over the years.

   Lavern D. Oanes, 81, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at her daughter's home in rural Lake Crystal.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Madelia, with burial in Waverly Cemetery, rural Trimont.
   Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and one hour prior to services at the church.
   She is survived by daughter Enid Anderson and husband Donald of rural Lake Crystal; sons, Jon and wife Catherine of St. James, Peter and wife Lorraine of Pittsburgh, Penn. and Dean of Glenville; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Melvin and wife Bonnie Olson of Prior Lake; sisters, Velma Hise of Bloomington, Alma Luebben and husband Martin of Donna, Texas, and Burnett Pagel of Minneapolis; sisters-in-law Ruth Becker of Michigan, Serena Shaefer and husband Marvin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Selma Schmaedeka of Maynard, Nellie Oanes of Truman and Mary Olson of Lakefield.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.
   She was born Dec. 25, 1917 in Triumph. She attended rural schools and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1937. She married Engval Oanes March 8, 1942 in Lakefield. They farmed in rural Ormsby until his death in May 1967. She moved to Madelia and worked at Tony Downs Foods, St. James, and later cooked at Madelia Community Hospital until retiring. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Madelia, and a former member of Waverly Lutheran Church, rural Trimont.

   Elsie Yackel, 98, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at Arnold Memorial Nursing Home, Adrian.
   Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Adrian, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Worthington.
   Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lynch-Dingmann Funeral Home, Adrian and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by daughters, Marvelle and husband Ritchey of Julesburg, Colo. and Joann and husband Ivan Brown of Sanborn; son Donald and wife Betty of St. Paul; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband Hugo; children, Jean and Leslie Yackel and Marion Essig; sister, Ruth Graff and Lydia Radkte; and brother Walter Kosel.
   She was born April 9, 1901 in rural Lamberton, to Albert and Mary Kosel. She attended country school in the area. She married Hugo Yackel on March 5, 1921 in Sanborn. After their marriage she helped manage Yackel Steak House at the two-mile corner near Sanborn. They moved to Adrian in 1953 where they owned and operated Yackel's Bar until 1966 when she retired. She moved to Arnold Memorial Nursing Home in 1997. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Adrian. She was also a member of the Booster Club, the Garden Club and the Eastern Star in Sanborn.
