Oliver Kjelshus , 88, of Hanska, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Linden Lutheran Church in rural Hanksa with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hanska. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Firle Funeral Home in Hanska and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Darwyn Johnson of Prior Lake; son and daughter-in-law, Orlin and Leah Kjelshus of Hanksa; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Pearse of Hanska; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle; brothers, Julius, Arthur, and Erwin Kjelshus. He was born April 24, 1912, in Lake Hanska Township, Brown County, to Olaf and Thea (Mork) Kjelshus. He married Myrtle Pearse on Dec. 2, 1939, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska. They farmed in Lake Hanska and Linden townships. William 'Bill' Senger, 78, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Clements, died June 4, 2000 at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Clements with military rites by the Clements American Legion. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and will continue at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Mabel Nordby, 93, of St. James, formerly of Odin, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia. Services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and continues one hour before services at the church. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Merle "Butch" and Ruth Ann of St. James; daughter, Loretta Mae Carlson of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Susan Garcia of Tucson, Ariz., Mark and Ruth Nordby of St. James, Beth and Kevin Dvorak of Andover; six great-grandchildren; sister, June Hanson of Odin; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Robert; sister, Hulda Lundquist; brothers, Palmer, Carl, Helmer, Harold and son-in-law, Jon Carlson. She was born Feb. 3, 1907, to Lars and Inga (Hjelter) Larson in Odin. On Aug. 11, 1928, she married Lloyd Nordby in Odin at the Zion Lutheran Church. They lived in the Odin area where she worked for 17 years at the Odin Post Office as a postal clerk. Lloyd died Sept. 22, 1970. She then moved to St. James where she became a member of Augustana Lutheran Church. She was active in the Ladies Aid, sewing club. She served as organist at Zion Lutheran Church for more than 40 years.
