Gertrude Forst, 94, of New Ulm and formerly of St. George died Friday, June 6, 2003 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday. There will be a combined rosary by the St. George Catholic Aid Society and the Council of Catholic Women at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. both Monday evening at the funeral home. Gertrude is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, LaVonne and Wally Ebert of New Ulm; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph K. and Mary Forst of New Ulm; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; sister, Agnes Wieland of New Ulm; and sisters-in-law, Josephine Fischer and Odelia Forst both of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph G. Forst on November 23, 1992; grandson, Kevin Bianchi on June 9, 1984; sister, Rose Spiess; brothers, Roman Fischer, Ferdinand Fischer, and Stanley Fischer; a sister-in-law, Elvera Fischer; and brothers-in-law, Alvin Spiess and William Wieland. She was born on November 28, 1908 in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County to Charles and Mary (Matsch) Fischer. She married Joseph G. Forst on September 2, 1930 at the St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. After marriage they farmed in West Newton Township until retiring in 1970 but continued to live on the farm. In 1986 they moved to New Ulm. She was a member of the St. George Catholic Church and a member of the St. George Catholic Aid Society and the Council of Catholic Women at church. Orel Zieman, 72, of Brownton, died on Friday at Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson. Services will be Monday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, with burial in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4-8 p.m. and continue Monday 8 a.m. till time of service at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. Military honors by the Brownton American Legion. Arrangements by the Hantge Funeral Chapel of Brownton. Deanna Reynolds, 64, of Redwood Falls, died on June 6, 2003, at Redwood Falls Hospital. Services are Wednesday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home, with burial in the Nettiewyynnt Cemetery in Gayles Township. Visitaion will be from noon until the time of service on Wednesday.
