Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Springfield, with burial in the city cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and will continue one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. A services of remembrance is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake, which is preceded by a gathering of friends and neighbors at 6 p.m. He is survived by his parents, Howard and Scot Coyour of Springfield; brother, Lee of Willmar; sister Cindee and husband Jim Clausen of Burnsville; special friend Lisa Anderson-Reed and her daughter Danika Reed of Moose Lake; and aunts Claris Delyea of Northwood, Iowa and Sally and husband Don Stewart of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his sister Marsha in infancy. He was born June 13, 1955 in Fairmont to Howard and Scot (Fisher) Coyour. He moved with his family to Springfield in 1963. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1973 and attended Southwest State University in Marshall. He moved to Walnut Grove, where he joined the Redwood County Sheriff's Department in 1977. He moved to Moose Lake in 1988, where he took a position as a conservation officer with the Department of Natural Resources. He served a short time with the DNR Marine unit in Duluth, transferring to Bemidji in 1997. He joined the Army National Guard in 1979, transferred to the Air National Guard in 1984 and was commissioned as captain and as a helicopter pilot in 1985 and currently held the rank of CWO3. He became a full-time pilot with the DNR in 1997 and was a safety officer in the National Guard. He was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Springfield, and a current member of Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake. Vernon Wolter, 83, died Friday, June 11, 1999 at his home. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fenske Funeral Chapel, Arlington, with burial in the city cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. at Fenske Funeral Home. He was survived by his wife Agnes of Brooklyn Park; daughter Vivian Bjorn of Brooklyn Park; grandson Vance Bjorn of Palo Alto, Calif.; sisters, Elsie Fries of Minneapolis and Helen Crote of Redwing; brother-in-law Wilbert Olson of Jordan; and sister-in-law Cora Walter of Arlington. He was preceded in death by brothers, Albert and Ivan; and sister Doris Olson. He was born Feb. 12, 1916 in Arlington Township, Sibley County, to Reinhard and Caroline (Koerney) Wolter. He attended Arlington High School. He married Agnes Carlson on June 22, 1940 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He worked for the public transportation system starting with street car and later bus operation. He was awarded for 35 years of public recognition and outstanding service. He retired in 1978. After retiring from Metro Transit, he worked at Albinson's delivering blue prints for 10 years. He also worked for his daughter at a retail coffee store. He was active in his church serving as usher and treasurer.
