   Fred William Ware, 96 of Austin died June 17, 1999 at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin.
   Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton cemetery.
   Visitation will be 11 a.m. - Noon at the church.
   Fred is survived by his children: Carol Rickheim of Austin; Roger and wife Gladys of Hudson, Wis.; Leland and wife Suzette of LeCenter; Dawn and husband Charles (Chuck) Tatrick of Hilman; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann and husband Nylo Schmalz of Westbrook and brother Harold Schultz of Washington D.C.
   He was preceeded in death by wives Fern and Edna; sisters Evelyn and Helen; brothers Art, Homer and Ted.
   He was born Sept. 1, 1902 in Langdon, ND to Carl and Susie (Unger) Schultz. He moved to Lamberton with his family as a child and attended country school. On June 9, 1926 he married Fern Albertson in Minneapolis. He lived in Bernadotte, Lafayette, Redwood Falls and Hillman before becoming a resident at St. Mark's Lutheran home in Austin in 1997. He farmed and managed a grain elevator, and later was a school custodian. Fern died in May of 1979, and he re-married. He was a former member of Sharon Lutheran church in Lamberton, the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, was a volunteer fireman and acted in community plays.

   Viola M. Strate, 77 of Sleepy Eye died Friday, June 18, 1999 in Sleepy Eye.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Manday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
   She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Richard Gurres of Willmar; sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Nancy Strate of Eden Valley, Lynn and Jeanne Strate of Sleepy Eye; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law George and Mary Lux of Sleepy Eye; step-brother Robert Eckstein of St. James; sisters0in-law Phyllis (Lux) Schouveiller of Morgan, Ellen Lux, Ines Lochner, Lillian Strate all of Sleepy Eye; nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; son Louis in 1954; husband Raymond in 1986; brothers Peter, Leo, Joseph, Jerome, LeRoy; sisters Tillie, Margie, Marcella, Marion, Josephine; step-brother Leo Eckstein.
   She was born Nov. 3, 1921 in Sleepy Eye to Nick and Anna (Hemmen) Lux. She attended St. Mary's School and District 13 country school. She married Raymond "Rayme" Strate May 20, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They made their home and farmed in Home Township until retiring and moving to Sleepy Eye in 1984. She helped on the farm, worked for Del Monte, and wrote for the East Home News of the Sleepy Eye Herald Dispatch. Her history of their farm was published in Farmer magazine in 1983. She was an active volunteer and was the recipient of the first Brown County Senior Citizen Distinguished Service Award in 1992. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, Christian Mothers, National Catholic Society of Forecters, Sleepy Eye Senior Citizens, Care Center Auxiliary, Divine Providence Community Home Auxiliary, Minnesota Senior Federation, and was a Red Cross "Galloneer".

   Jeanette Hudson, 37, of Gibbon died Thursday, June 17, 1999 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
   Funeral arrangements are pending with the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon.

   Ruth (Gehlhar) Krenz, wife of Henry Krenz, former principal at St. Paul's Lutheran School, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999.
   Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm from 3 - 6 p.m. Sunday.
   Following services for the family on Monday, burial will be take place in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

   Alexander Markgraf, 70 of Buffalo Lake died Thursday, June 17, 1999 at the Hutchinson Area Health Care facility.
   Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   He is survived by wife Susan; daughters Dawn and Deanna all of of Buffalo Lake; step-son Leif Silfverston of Prior Lake; step-daughter Traci Silfverston and finance Brian Wagner of Dassel; brothers LeRoy Markgraf and wife Darlene of Buffalo Lake, William Markgraf of Stewart, John Markgraf and wife Sylvia of Stewart; sister Molly Ahlbrecht and husband Otto of Hector; mother-in-law Adella Gruenhagen of Norwood/Young America; sisters-in-law Gladys Markgraf, Rose Markgraf both of Buffalo Lake, Anita Herrmann and husband Virgil of Belle Plaine; brother-in-law Harold Inselmann of Hector; nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl, David, and Henry; sisters Sally Inselmann, Freida Inselmann, Adeline Inselmann, Alma Voight.
   He was born Feb. 18, 1929 in Hutchinson to John Sr. and Elizabeth (Gotte) Markgraf. He grew up in the Hector/Buffalo Lake area where he attended rural school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954. He married Susan Gruenhagen Silfverston July 11, 1980 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Young America and they lived on the family farm in Preston Lake Township. He was a member of VFW Post 906, a 1999 charter member of the World War II Memorial, and he served on the St. Paul's Lutheran Church board.

   Grace Elizabeth Roering, was born stillborn to Jason and Emily Roering of North Mankato on Monday, June 14, 1999 at the Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
   There will be a private family service at the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. Arrangements are through the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
   She is survived by her parents, Jason and Emily (nee Fischer) Roering of North Mankato; grandparents, Lois and Luverne Fischer of Sleepy Eye, Delores and Gerald Roering of St. Cloud; great-grandparents, Alvin and Germaine Beaudry of Albertville, Irene Roering of St. Cloud, and Veronica Forstner of New Ulm; aunts and uncles, Holly Roering of St. Cloud, Mary and Ken Bruss of Lenexa, Kan., Ann and Rick Reckow of St. James, Paul and Rae Fischer of Redwood Falls, Peter and Julie Fischer of Stewartville, Joe Fischer of New Ulm, John and Rose Fischer of New Ulm, Karl and Nancy Fischer of Hutchinson, Lucy Fischer of Elk River; and thirteen cousins.

   Harriet Broste, 80 of Madelia and formerly of Hanska, died Friday morning, June 18, 1999 at the madelia community hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran church in Hanska with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Firle funeral home in Hanska, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

   Beverly Flohrs, 67 of rural Ormsby died Friday morning, June 18, 1999 at the Fairmont Community hospital.
   Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Galena Township, rural Ormsby with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9 - 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dramer Family funeral home in Trimont and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

   Benadine Murphy, 86 of Madelia died Friday at the Madelia Community Hospital.
   Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church in Madelia with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
   Visitation is Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the Pilgrm Funeral Home in Madelia, and from 9 - 10:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be a rosary recited Sunday at 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
