Larry Herring, 59, of Lafayette, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette, with Rev. John Berger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. today at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm, and one hour prior to service at the church Thursday. The St. Thomas Court Catholic Order of Foresters of Lafayette will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service will be held at 8 p.m., both Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Lawrence William Herring, the son of William and Phillis (Hacker) Herring, was born March 6, 1944, in New Ulm. He lived with his family in Lafayette and attended Lafayette and Winthrop public schools. Larry married Virginia Beranek June 15, 1965, at St. George Catholic Church. They made their home in Lafayette for many years before moving their family to their farm between Lafayette and Winthrop in 1976. Larry was self-employed in the livestock, trucking and construction businesses most of his life. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and the St. Thomas Court Catholic Order of Foresters of Lafayette. Survivors include his wife Virginia of Lafayette; son Tom Herring and his wife Linda of Lafayette; daughter Kim Schroeder and her husband Dale of Gibbon; seven grandchildren; mother Phillis Herring of New Ulm; sister Geri Kokesch and her husband Gerald of New Ulm; brothers, Billy Herring of Fairmont, and Dennis Herring and his wife Cheryl of Lafayette; sisters-in-law, Esther Schwab and her husband Francis of Gibbon, Grace Rubischko and her husband Steve of Gibbon, and Chubby Carlson and her husband Jerry of New Ulm; brothers-in-law, Wallace Beranek and his wife Donna of Gibbon, Ben Beranek and his wife Noreen of Gibbon, and Gerald Beranek and his wife Cindy of New Ulm; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Julius E. Larsen, 78, of Sleepy Eye, formerly of Morgan, died Sunday, June 29, 2003 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. Services are 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 5, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Morgan with burial in Morgan City Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service. He is survived by daughters, Barb Hewitt of St. Paul, Karen Larsen of Lincoln, Neb. and Connie Miller of Sleepy Eye; four grandchildren; sisters, Betty Knudsen of Park Rapids and Phillis Zummack of St. Paul; a stepsister, Julie Larsen of Hutchinson. He was born Nov. 6, 1924 in Morgan Township, Redwood County, Minn., to Ernest and Pearl (Bryan) Larsen Barbara Neushwander, 73, of Mankato, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Landkamer- Johnson-Boman Funeral Home, in Mankato, with Rev. Pam Serdar officiating. Additional funeral services are being held in Plainfield, Ill., through Overman-Jones Funeral Home. Burial is in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, in Elwood, Ill. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home in Mankato. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato. Barbara was born on Oct. 13, 1929, in Eden, N.C., to Judson and Sally Hall. She was married to Dean Neushwander for 51 years before his death in 2002. Barbara attended Centenary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending People First activities, listening to Country Music, flowers, and spending time with her caregiver Doris. Barbara Neushwander is survived by daughter Denise "Wilbur" Frink and her husband Brian of Mankato; two sons and their wives, Dale Neushwander and Caren, and Dan Neushwander and Kathleen, all of Plainfield, Ill.; four sisters, Helen, Vivian, Iris and Lucy; two brothers, Mack and Clarence; four grandchildren, Eric Neushwander and his wife Kelli, Melissa Neushwander, Blake Frink and Anna Keiko Frink. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister Mary and brother Judd.
