Fritz, 86, of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, July 1, 1999 at Divine Providence Community Home, Sleepy Eye. Services will held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Divine Providence Community Home, Sleepy Eye with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato is in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Sleepy Eye, sons and their wives, John and Barb Fritz of Apple Valley, and Steven and Debbie Fritz of West Lafayette, Ind.; one daughter Debbie and Roger Harmon of Fridley; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. He was born Jan. 5, 1913, at Sleepy Eye to Matthew and Josephine (Wintheiser) Fritz. He married Bernice Schulte on June 20, 1939 at Dorchester, Iowa. He owned and operated Leo's City Cafe in Sleepy Eye for 35 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, Catholic Order of Foresters, Sleepy Eye Fire Department for 37 years, and a City Councilman for 17 years. Laura M. Patterson, 93, died Thursday, July 1, 1999 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m Monday, and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, with a VFW Auxiliary service at 7 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. She is survived by her daughters ,Berdell and husband Raymond Hollingsworth of Maplewood, Colleen and husband Bernard Solyntjes of Fridley and Karen and husband Pete Haarala of Afton; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Erma Lang of Sleepy Eye, and a brother, Richard Gramentz of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth in 1947; son Donald in 1996; brothers Henry, Otto, Ervin, Arnold, Herman and William, and sisters, Gertrude Hinton, Esther Bobsin, Ella Nelson, and Alvina Schewe. She was born May 16, 1906, in Springfield, the daughter of William and Alvina (Lawrenz) Gramentz. She grew up and attended District 40 country school in Burnstown Township, near Springfield. She worked at the Berg Hotel in Sleepy Eye for a few years. She married Kenneth Patterson on Aug. 4, 1927 in St. Paul, and they lived in Sleepy Eye. She worked as a cook at the Del Roy Hotel and the City Cafe for many years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Robert Wiltscheck, 55, of Sterling Heights, Michigan and formerly of New Ulm died Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at his home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He is the son of Harold and Adeline Wiltscheck of New Ulm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 10, at the chapel at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Local arrangements were handled by the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Roger Wells, 59 of Victoria, formerly of Lamberton died July 2, 1999 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
