Edna Scofield, 100, formerly of Balaton and Marshall, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home, Waseca. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at McRaith Funeral Home, Waseca, with burial Saturday, at Lamberton Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before Friday services. She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; sister Inez Gifford; and brothers Oliver and Russel Wegner. She was born June 21, 1900 in Germantown Township, Redwood County, to Charles and Minnie (Werner) Wegner. She married Bernard Scofield in 1934 in Lamberton. They lived in Balaton where they owned and operated a Standard Oil station. They later moved to Marshall where she did home child care. She moved to Waseca in 1994 to be near family. Douglas Boardman, 67, of Tomah, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at the VA Medical Center, Tomah. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Central Lutheran Church, Fairfax, with burial in Hauge Cemetery, Camp Township. Visitation will be 10:30-11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel of Fairfax is assisting with arrangements. He is survived by 15 cousins. He was born February 11, 1933 to Gordon Cleis and Mabel Elizabeth (Hanson) Boardman in Millville, N.J. He served in the Korean Conflict. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a social workers in Medford and Racine, Wis. Kathryn Jensen, 55, of Morgan, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield. Arrangements are pending with Nelson Funeral Home in Morgan. Wyat Deming, 6, of Evan, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato from injuries received in a weekend auto accident. Services will be delayed because his parents, Wade and Cheryl Deming, are in the hospital. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Esther Ericson, 88, of Gibbon, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at home. Arrangements are pending at Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.
