   Richard Barnum, 78, of Carthage, Mo., and formerly of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999 at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage.
   Services are Monday at 10:30 am at New Avon Salem United Methodist Church in New Avon Township with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
   He is survived by his friend Lee Reider of Carthage, Mo.; sister, Ruth Mulick and husband Joe of Kansas City, Kansas; sister-in-law, Ruth Barnum of rural Redwood Falls; and brother-in-law, Jack Large of Wabasso; several nephews and nieces.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vernon; and sister, Delores.
   He was born on Feb. 19, 1921, in Redwood Falls to Doc Luvern and Myrtle (Johnson) Barnum. He graduated from Wabasso High School. He farmed in Redwood County. He was a member of New Avon Salem United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.

    Lydia Dehne, 88, of Hector died July 14, 1999 at Glencoe Area Health Care Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the Hector City Cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by brothers, Fred Stern of Sanborn, and Edward and his wife Joyce of Shawnee, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Peggy Brevold and Delores Stern; many nieces, nephews and friends, and special friends Christ and Violet Johnson of Buffalo Lake.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and two brothers.
   She was born Aug. 8, 1910 in North Star Township, Brown County, to August and Emma (Krueger) Stern. She attended District 78 school in North Star Township. She married William Radtke in 1934. The couple farmed in North Star Township. On Feb. 14, 1952 she married Arthur Dehne at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Fairmont. They farmed west of Hector. Art died May 3, 1980.

   Esther Bahn, 100, of Wood Lake-Cottonwood area died July 24, 1999 at Granite Falls Manor in Granite Falls.
   Services are 11:a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Posen Township, rural Wood Lake with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is one hour before services at the church. Sunset Funeral Home of Echo handled arrangements.
   She is survived by daughters, Verdina Molstad and husband Bob of Cottonwood, Janet Kane of St. Paul, and Geneva Wetzel and husband Arthur of New Brighton; sons, David Bahn and wife Lalah of Wood Lake, Hilbert and wife Janice of Springfield, Ill., Dennis and wife Doris of Bloomington and Walden and wife Judy of Apple Valley; six grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons-in-law and a great-grandson.
   She was born Oct. 6, 1898, near Gaylord. Due to the illness of her mother, she was raised by her uncle and aunt. When her aunt died she lived in a children's home before coming to live with Mrs. John Bahn on a farm in Posen township. She attended the St. Luke's Lutheran School. She married to David Bahn on June 12, 1921 in St. Luke's Church. They farmed near Cottonwood for many years. In 1959 they moved to Wood Lake. After her husband's death in 1966, she continued to live in Wood Lake until 1983 when she moved to Cottonwood. In 1993 she entered the Granite Falls Manor. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Posen Township where she belonged to the Ladies Aid. She also belonged to the Posen Homemakers Club and the Wood Lake Birthday club.

   Dorothy Odegard, 48, of Black Hawk, S.D., formerly of New Ulm, died July 13, 1999 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, S.D.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 Saturday at Firle Funeral Home in Hanska and continues one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by her husband, Daniel of Black Hawk, S.D.; daughters, Dawn Gregor and her husband Scott of New Ulm, Amanda Odegard of Black Hawk, S.D.; sons, John Odegard and his wife Carri of Hanska, Jeffrey Odegard of Black Hawk; five grandchildren; parents, Lonnie and Gladys Johnston of Orange Grove, Texas; sisters, Mary Olivio and husband Juan of Sandiego, Texas, Christine Olive and husband Mike of Beeville, Texas, Bonnie Wills of Orange Drove, Texas; brothers, Lonnie Ray Jr. Johnston and wife Betty of Corpus Christi, Texas, Horace Johnston and wife Elaine of Alice, Texas, Maco Johnston and wife Wes of Orange Grove, Texas, Albert Johnston and his wife Emily of Odem, Texas; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Solberg and husband Donald of Albany, Ga., Linda Dyre and her husband Mark of New Brighton, Caroline Suess and her husband Steven of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews.
   She was born Oct. 28, 1950 in Alice, Texas to Lonnie Ray and Gladys (Cochran) Johnston. She lived in Alice until 1969 when she moved to New Ulm. She married Daniel Odegard on April 13, 1969 in Hanska. They lived in New Ulm until 1982 then moved to Lakeville. In 1984 they moved to Lake City where she worked at the Blue Moon Restaurant. In 1991 they moved to Black Hawk, S.D. She was admitted into the Rapid City Care Center in February 1999.

    Emma M. Rickert, 104, of Brownton died July 14, 1999, at Glencoe Area Health Center- Long Term Care.
   Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Hantge Chapel in Brownton as well as one hour prior to the service at church.
   She is survived by daughter Della and her husband Ralph Schultz of Buffalo Lake; grandchildren and their spouses, Earl and Diane Opitz of Gaylord, Glenda and Gus Fisker of Pine River, Karlo and Betty Schultz of Winsted, Merril and Mary Schultz of Waseca; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ella Weishert of Brownton and many nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Lorna Opitz in 1969; son-in-law, Edwin Opitz; seven brothers, Julius, Emil, Henry, John, Edward, August, Otto; and five sisters, Mina, Ida, Lena, Martha and Mathilda.
   She was born Aug. 19, 1894, in Round Grove Township, McLeod County to Emil and Bertha (Schwartzrock) Gehrke. She attended school in Round Grove Township. On June 18, 1914 she was married to Fred Rickert in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. They lived in Penn Township and moved into Brownton in 1947. She helped with the farming operation for most of her life. She worked at Green Giant in Glencoe.

   The Rev. Urban Neudecker, retired priest of the Diocese of Winona, of Sherburn, died Thursday, July 15, 199, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Wabasha.
   Arrangements are pending with Kramer Family Funeral Home, Sherburn.
