   Verdina K. Johnson, 86 of Franklin died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at The Franklin Health Care Center in Franklin.
   Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye with burial in the Prairieville Cemetery in Evan.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 8:30-11:30 a.m. Friday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
   She is survived by brothers Christ and his wife Violet Johnson of Buffalo Lake, Wilbert Johnson of Sleepy Eye; Lester and his wife Marian Johnson of Sleepy Eye; sisters Mathilda Johnson of Sleepy Eye and Eleanor Buche of Sleepy Eye; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
   She was born Oct. 3, 1912 in Pairieville Twp, Brown County, to Rudolph and Sarah ;Marie (Hansen) Johnson. She grew up and attended country school in Prairieville Twp. After her schooling she lived and worked on the family farm north of Sleepy Eye for many years. She also worked at DelMonte food and the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital. Verdina moved to the Sleepy Eye Care Center for a short time and later make her home at the Franklin Health Care Center for the last few years. She was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.

   Hildegard H. Zitzman, 83 of New Ulm died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at her home.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9:30 Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Christian Mothers Society will pray a rosary at 4 p.m. today at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. The St. George Catholic Aid Society will pray the Rosary at 6 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., both at the Funeral Home.
   She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Lenora Zitzman of New Ulm; three grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward and Lorraine Bushard, Cornelius and Julia Zitzmann all of New Ulm, William Roeck of Hutchinson, and Alice Schwab of New Ulm.
   She was preceeded in death by her husband in February, 1999; sister, Gertrude Schwab in infancy, and a brother George Schwab.
   She was born Aug. 17, 1915 in New Ulm to George, Sr. and Mary (Matsch) Schwab. She attended Holy Trinity Grade School in New Ulm and Good Counsel Academy in Mankato. She married Albert Zitzman Nov. 16, 1937 at St. George Catholic Church in St. George. After their marriage they farmed together in the St. George area until retiring and moving to New Ulm in 1974. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, St. George Catholic Aid Society and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

   Walter H. Harder, 70 of Bingham Lake died July 19, 1999 at his rural Bingham Lake home.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, with burial in the Mountain Lake Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. tonight at the Eifert Funeral Home in Mountain Lake, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Harder of Bingham Lake; daughters Carol Harder of South St. Paul, Sharon Harder of Goshen, Ind., Marlene Harder Horst and her husband Rene' of Lewiston, Maine; two grandchildren; sisters Berthan and her husband Robert Johnson of Woodburn, Ore., Erna Johnson of Darfur, and Florence and her husband Gary Dunker of Mountain Lake; many other relatives and friends.
   He was preceeded in death by brother, Arnold in infancy and brother-in-law, Donald Johnson.
   He was born June 25, 1929 to Henry H. and Anna H. (Baerg) Harder in Watonwan County. He received his eduction at Cottonwood County District 16 north country school. He married Elizageth Quiring March 9, 1957 in Mountain Lake. The made their home and farmed together in Carson Township, Cottonwood County. He retired from farming in 1993. He was a life long member of the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake where he served as usher and trustee. He also worked with the Mennonite Disaster Service and the Mennonite Central Committee. He was Carson Township Supervisor for 18 years.

   Alma M. Olson, 88, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999 at Springfield Medical center.
   A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Valleyview apartments' Social Room in Lamberton. Burial will be at Old Westbrook Cemetery, rural Westbrook.
   Arrangements were handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.
   She is survived by a sister Hilda Enstad of Valley View Manor, Lamberton; a brother Oscar and wife Vernette Olson of Storden; and 11 nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl and Ole Olson; and sisters, Ragna Hendrickson, Olga Martens, Selma Knell and Esther Hert.
   She was born Nov. 13, 1910 in Storden Township, Cottonwood County, to Kjetil and Ragnhild (Haugen) Olson. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural school District 30. She moved to Minneapolis and worked at Brown and Bigelow Company for many years. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and volunteered for many church activities. In 1992 she moved to Lamberton and joined Old Westbrook Church.

   Kathryn A. Schreckenbert, 68 of Faribault died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
   Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at First English Lutheran Church in Faribault with burial in the Meadow ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. tonight at the Boldt Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the chruch.
   She is survived by her husband; children: Cynthia Kubes of Faribault, Bruce Schreckenberg of New Ulm, Todd Schreckenberg of Faribault, Paula and her husband Jerry Schauer of Faribault, Bobbi Schreckenberg of Faribault, Andrea Schreckenberg of Northfield, and Melissa and her husband Dana Thompson of Faribault; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters Phyllis and her husband Kenneth Ayd of St. Paul and Beverly rouse of Leisure City, Fla.
   She was preceeded in death by her parents; brother James Fazier and sisters Elaine Frazier and Viola Mortensen.
   She was born Oct. 16, 1930 to Jess and Kathryn Ida (Backlund) Frazier in St. Paul. She graduated from Humboldt High School in St. Paul in 1948. On Oct. 23, 1948 she married Frank Edmund Schreckenberg in West St. Paul. They lived briefly in West St. Paul and Owatonna and then moved to Faribault in 1950 where they founded Minnesota Maintenance Power Equipment. She was active in the Mrs. Jaycees orgaization. She was a long time member of First English Lutheran Church, being actively involved in many committees over the years. She was a long time advocate for the rights and protection of mentally handicapped children and adults. This brought her to be an ARC member; a member of the Volunteer Council at the Faribault Regional Center and a volunteer at the Activity Center teaching religion to the mentally handicapped.
