   Bernard Jansen, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at the Olivia Healthcare Center.
   He is survived by his wife Marjorie; daughters, Sharon (Gene) Retka of Courtland, and Roxy (Russ) Schoeb of St. Peter; daughter-in-law Junette Grannes of Olivia; grandchildren, Tammy (Bill) Kopel, Tom (Karrie) Jansen, Toni (Jamie) Haugen, Peggy (Paul) Boehme, Ben Jansen, Jennifer (Jason) Wallace, Becky (Jason) Clamme, Joshua Retka, Robyn Frechette, Christopher Frechette, Myranda Schoeb, and Lucas Schoeb; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Allie Jansen of Olivia; sisters, Bernadine Reiver of Olivia, and Annie "Mick" Jansen of St. Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son Kurt Jansen.
   Bernard was born Nov. 2, 1918, on the family farm in rural Olivia. He married Marjorie Sommers on Nov. 27, 1943, in Olivia. They made their home on a farm south of Olivia.

   Lorraine D. Klein, 72, of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at St. John's Lutheran Home in Springfield.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
   She is survived by her sons, Gregory of Newton, Kan., Theodore of Duluth, and Stephen of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Pietig of Redwood Falls, and Arlien Miller of Bloomington.
   Lorraine D. Klein was born May 24, 1930, in Clements, to Theodore and Ella (Schultz) Jacoby.

   Selina Peterson , 74, of Sleepy Eye, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
   Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye; and continues one hour before the service at the church. She is survived by husband Leslie of Sleepy Eye; children, David Peterson of St. Peter, Scott Peterson of Sleepy Eye, Dean Peterson of Fargo, and Jane Osowski of Brookings, S.D.; sisters, Leola Olson of Fargo, N.D., Geneve Schultz of Redmond, Wash, Eva Hawk of Strongsville, Ohio; and nine grandchildren.
   She was born April 21, 1928, in Kinloos, Township, Walsh County, N.D., to George and Anna (Nygard) Myra.

   Sylvester Schunk , 78, of Springfield, died Monday, July 22, 2002 at his home.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
   He is survived by his sisters, Elveia Schumacher, Bernice Schumacher, and Marie Grochow, all of Springfield.
   He was born June 8, 1924, to Andrew and Gertrude (Eickholt) in Stately Township, Brown County.

   Kenneth Weiss, 71, of Paynesville and formerly of rural Grove City, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at his home in Paynesville.
   Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at Church of Our Lady in Manannah, with burial in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Watkins.
    Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, with prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
   Kenneth Michael Weiss was born Sept. 1, 1930, in Brandon, to John and Emma (Mohr) Weiss. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war. On May 3, 1958, he married Leona Loch at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Watkins.
