   Robert "Bob" Meyer, 56, of Bloomington and formerly of New Ulm, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at his home of lung cancer.
   Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Transfiguration Church in Bloomington; with burial in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Werness Chapel, 2300 West Old Shakopee Road.
   He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Corbett of Bloomington; brother, Richard "Dick" Meyer of Mound; sisters, Carol Lambrecht of Chanhassen, Judy Meyer of Brooklyn Park and Candy Meyer of New Ulm.
   He was born Oct. 14, 1942, to Augie and Caroline Meyer in New Ulm. He attended New Ulm High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-63. He married Linda Oelkers on July 29, 1957, in Austin, Minn. He was president of the Ameriguard Insurance Company in Bloomington.

   Emil Wallner, 96, of Buffalo Lake, died Friday, July 23, 1999, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
   Services are 2 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the church.
   Arrangements by the Hughes Funeral Home.
   He is survived by nieces and nephews with their spouses: Orlene Fangmeier of Hector, Vernon and Geraldine Schuetz of Minneapolis, Carolyn and Ken Babcock of Montana, Vivian and Merlyn Skramsted of Enderlin, N.D., Doras and Don Asplund of Enderlin, N.D., Kenneth Wallner of Enderlin, N.D., Vonnie and Gary Condon of Perham, Wilbert and Doris Wallner of Berlin, Wis., Howard and Lorene Wallner of Enderlin, N.D., Roger and Eloise Wallner of Parkers Prairie, Myron Wallner of Washington, and Dennis and Vicky Wallner of Lisbon, N.D., and sister-in-law, Eleanor Sifferath of Buffalo Lake.
   He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother in infancy; brothers, Ed, Christ, Otto, Henry and Ernest; and his sister Mabel.
   He was born Sept.15, 1902, to Christ and Bertha (Pofahl) Wallner. He graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1923. He married Elsie Anne Ide on June 10, 1929, at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake. They lived in Buffalo Lake. He was the editor and publisher of the Buffalo Lake newspaper from 1925-29. He and his wife then ran the Cat's Eye gas station and tavern. He worked as a rural mail carrier for over 20 years, retiring in 1972. His wife died Dec. 19, 1978. In 1981, he moved to Buffalo Lake Apartments. He moved to the Cedar Crest Estates in Hutchinson in 1987. In January 1997, he entered the Buffalo Lake Nursing Home.

   Leora J. Weikle, 66, of Fairfax died July 25, 1999 at Redwood Falls Hospital of cancer.
   Services are 1:30 Thursday at Central Lutheran Church in Camp Township, Renville County, with burial in Ft. Ridgely and Dale Cemetery in Camp Township, Renville County.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax and continues one hour before the services at the church on Thursday.

   Eldon R. Strand, 81, of New Ulm, died July 24, 1999 at his home.
   Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 7:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at Firle Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   He is survived by his daughters Gloria and her husband Caleb Porter of Greer, S.C.; Deanne and her husband Steve Wrage of Dell Rapids, S.D.; Barbara Mack of Sioux Falls, S.D.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo and her husband Armond Olson of Mankato; Ginny Norton of Mankato, Marcia and her husband Glen Roberts of Merrill, Wis.; brother-in-law, Lonny Anderson of Mankato; nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his wife and his brother Harley.
   He was born Nov. 9, 1917 in Rapidan to Nels and Elsie (Flemming) Strand. He was the valedictorian of the Rapidan High School Class of 1937. He attended the School of Agriculture at the University of Minnesota from 1939-40. He went into business with his father and brother and was part owner of the Nels Strand and Sons White Chester Hogs operation. After moving to New Ulm he became a milk tester for Southern Minnesota and also worked as a farm hand for Dennis Sandmann. He married Dorothy Anderson on March 25, 1961 in Mankato. The couple lived in New Ulm. He worked as a custodian at District 88 for 25 years and as a custodian at First United Methodist Church in New Ulm for 30 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a square dance caller and a 4-H leader for many years.
    Memorials are preferred to the family.

   Carl 'Butch' Sundell, 53, of 1118 17th Street South in New Ulm died Monday, July 26, 1999 at his home.
    Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
   

   Vivian B. Goodman, 75, of Gaylord, died Sunday, July 25, at Glencoe Area Health Center.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.
   Arrangements are with Egesdal Funeral Home of Gaylord.

   Lene Dieball 88, of rural Henderson, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at her home.
   Arrangements are pending with Fenske Funeral Homes, Arlington.

   Vernon Theis, 82, of Lamberton, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at Springfield Medical Center.
   Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.
