Betty Gaines, 89, Morgan, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999 at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan.
Arrangements are pending with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
John D. Mueller, 72, of 11 S. Payne St., New Ulm, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-11 a.m. Friday at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm and continues one hour prior to the service at church.

Rev. Darold Lehman, 69, of Springfield died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999 at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, with Bishop Raymond A. Lucker the main celebrant. Burial will be in the St. George Cemetery, West Newton Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation is 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of service Friday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday and a 7:30 a.m. morning prayer service on Friday, both at the church. St. Raphael's men will pray the rosary at 10 .am. Friday at the church.

He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Lang of New Ulm; nephew, Jeffrey and wife Vicki Lang and their children Jonathon, Jeremy, and Jason of Melrose; nieces, Trudy and husband Rick Blanshan and daughter Katy of Osakis; Terri and husband Jim Eayrs of Mankato; Mary and husband Wade Lastine and their children Amber, Michael and Matthew of New Ulm; and colleague in ministry, Mary Polta of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Floyd Lang in 1993 and several aunts and uncles.
He was born Nov. 14,1929 in New Ulm to Reinhold and Elenora (Steppel) Lehman. He grew up in New Ulm and attended Holy Trinity and New Ulm Public Schools. Following graduation from Our Lady of the Ozarks Seminary in Carthage, Mo. he attended St. Mary's College in Winona for one year before moving to the St. Paul Seminary.
He and the Rev. Germain Rademacher were the first two priests ordained in the Diocese of New Ulm in Holy Trinity Cathedral on Feb. 23, 1958. He celebrated his first mass at his home parish of Holy Trinity in New Ulm. In May 1958 he received his first assignment to St. Mary's Parish in Sleepy Eye, where he was an assistant pastor and also taught at St. Mary's High School. In 1960 he moved to Holy Redeemer parish in Marshall where his primary responsibility was high school chaplain. In 1960 he was assigned to St. Anastasia Parish in Hutchinson and St. Columban parish in Greenleaf. His first pastorate was in 1961 to St. Anthony parish in Regal and St. Patrick parish in Kandyohi. In 1962 he founded the church and was appointed the first pastor of Our Lady of the Lakes parish in Spicer/New London, as well as continuing as pastor at St. Anthony. The parish in Spicer was the first church in the diocese to be granted permission for Saturday evening masses. In late August of 1969 he was assigned as pastor to Holy Rosary parish in Graceville and St Barnabas parish in Barry. In 1975 he served as pastor at St. George parish in West Newton Township and Visitation parish in Swan Lake. Later he became pastor of St. Gregory parish in Lafayette. While remaining as pastor of St. George and St. Gregory, he became director of the Office of Continuing Education of Priests in 1979 until his move to Holy Redeemer parish in Marshall in January of 1981. He was assigned as pastor at St. Raphael parish in Springfield in 1989 where he served until his death, and he also served as the superintendent of St. Raphael's School.
Memorials are preferred to the Father Darold Lehman Fund for priestly and church vocations in the New Ulm Diocese.
Eunice Bethke, 79, of Arlington, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Arlington, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Fenske Funeral Home, Arlington, and continues one hour before services Thursday at the church.
She is survived by husband, Lloyd Bethke of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marian Bethke of Webster, Iowa; seven grandchildren; brother, Robert Renneke of Shakopee; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Cottone of New York City, and Amy and George Coury of Torrence, Calif.
She was born Aug. 9, 1919 in Sibley Township, rural Gaylord, to Henry and Mathilda (Pioske) Renneke. She served in the Army Air Corps for three years. She married Lloyd Bethke on Sept. 5, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley Township. They farmed for 50 years and then moved to Arlington in May 1998. She was active in teaching at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and also in other church activities.
Arvid Lange, 63, of Hector, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Hutchinson Area Health Care.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, at First Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the City Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Lange of Hector; children: Keith and his wife, Lynn Lange of Hutchinson, Ronny and his wife Bobbi Lange of Hector, and Randy and his wife Shelly Lange of Stewart; grandchildren: Nicole Lange, Drew Lange, Kacie Lange, and Tate Lange; sisters: Ruth and her husband Robert Allen of Hector, and Barb and her husband Chris Johnson of Hector, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Brett Lange, and his brother Kenneth Lange
He was born June 16, 1936, in Olivia, to Roy and LuVerne (Koelln) Lange. He grew up in the Hector area, and attended District 100 school. He married Dorothy Joan Hicks on Sept. 7, 1957, at First Methodist Church in Litchfield, They made their home in Melville Township near Hector. He farmed, drove truck for Ace Ready Mix, and also worked at the Hector Drain Tile Company. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Hector.
