   Leonard Bernardy , 80, of New Ulm, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
    Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Burial with full military honors conducted by the New Ulm veterans organizations will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
   Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday, at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm, and one hour prior to service at the church.
   Leonard Joseph Bernardy, the son of John and Wilhelmina (Gosler) Bernardy, was born Dec. 4, 1922 in Minneota. Leonard entered the United States Army in March, 1943. He served in the European Theatre during World War II and was honorably discharged in February, 1946. He married Dorothy Stay on July 24, 1949 in Montevideo. They resided in Minneota until moving to New Ulm in 1957. He was employed at Super Value and Dannheim's Dairy.
   Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of New Ulm; sons, Joe Bernardy and his wife Ronni of Altoona, Wis., Steve Bernardy and his wife Karen of Livonia, Mich.; daughters, Denise Redepenning and her husband Bob of Litchfield, Candy Roiger and her husband Gary, and Bonnie Mangen, of New Ulm; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Gayle Bernardy and his wife Harriet, Randy Bernardy and his wife Darlene, of Minneota; sister, Barbara Summerfelt and her husband Lawrence of Taunton; sister-in-law, Betty Anderson and her husband Jim; nieces and nephews.
   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Carol Huna; two daughters in infancy; and brothers, Bernard, Ordell, Clarence and Melvin Bernardy.

   Leoma Veronica (Raschka) Fults , 90, of Sanborn, died on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
   Service is 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 11, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church with burial in Sanborn City Cemetery. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., Sunday, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and a CCW rosary at10 a.m. Monday at the church.
   Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Sunday, and 7:30-9:30 a.m., Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
   She is survived by her husband Lendale; sons, Ronald of Sanborn, Gregory of Chisago City, and Cleve of Park Rapids; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one stepgreat grandchild.
   She was born Dec. 22, 1912, to Wenzel and Catherine (Kuelbs) Raschka in Stately Township, Brown County.

   Vera Lowinske , 76, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and formerly of the New Ulm and Sleepy Eye areas died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls.
   Graveside services will be held at the Ft. Ridgley Cemetery at a later date.
    Arrangements are being handled by Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.

   Martha Trocke , 70, of Arlington, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
   Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Arlington with burial in Arlington Public Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-9 p.m., Friday and one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
   Arrangements are handled by Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.
   She is survived by children, Richard of Arlington, James of Burnsville, Steve of Arlington, Karen Trocke-Kandah of North Carolina, and Marnett Herd of Alexandria.
