   Arnold J. Windschitl, 78, of rural Motley, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at the Greater Staples Hospital.
   Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley, with burial in the Motley Public Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Brenny Funeral Home, Staples. The rosary will be said at 6:30 with the parish prayers at 7 p.m.
   He is survived by his wife, Loretta; children, Carol Priesinger of Jersey City, N.J., Gary of Motley, Ralph of Park Rapids, Tony of Menahga, Bob of Marble, Leo of Motley, Paul of Sioux Falls, S.D., Tom of Fridley, Joan Arango of Sparta, Tenn., Rita Miller of Staples, and Roger of Columbia, Md.; sisters, Marie Landsteiner of New Ulm, Lois Tuzinski of Minneapolis, Alice Stueber of New Ulm, Jean Dummer of New Ulm, and Joan Krzmarzick of Rochester; brothers, Curtis and Alvin, both of New Ulm, and Lyle of Lafayette; 23 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Raymond; son, Jim, in 1977; and an infant son, Joseph.
   He was born on Feb. 14, 1923, in Comfrey, to Anton and Frances (Hillesheim) Windschitl. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. In December 1944, he went into the Navy and served in the South Pacific. Following his discharge in August 1946, he returned to Brown County where he farmed with his family. He married Loretta Faerber on April 27, 1948, at St Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. They worked on his family farm before moving with their children to a farm near Stewart. In 1975 they bought a farm between Motley and Pillager. Arnold also worked for 10 years at Morey's before his retirement in 1989.
   He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley, and American Legion Post 0124 in Motley.

   Ada McRoberts, 96, of Jacksonbville, Fla., died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, after a lingering illness.
   Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE, Minneapolis.
   She is survived by sister-in-law, Carol Strate of New Ulm; nieces, Sandra Schrooer and husband Jim of Jacksonbille and Yvonne Boelter and husband Donald of Richmond; and nephews Steve Strate and wife Sue of Mayer, Ariz., and Jerry Strate and wife Carol of Ottertail.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lee and Roy Strate; sisters Leona Strate and Muriel Walsh and husband, Elwood McRoberts.
   She was the daughter of August and Emma (Haenze) Strate of West Newton Township, Nicollet County.

   Orpha Kiecker, 81, of Gaylord, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Gardenview Nursing Home in LeSueur.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery,
   Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by her son, Virgil Kiecker of Gaylord; sister and brother-in-law, Vernita and Herman Eickmann of Van Alstyne, Texas; brother, Elmer Bleick of New Ulm; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; parents; sister, Edna Keske and sons in infancy, Vernon and Verdel.
   She was born Nov. 23, 1919, in West Newton Township, Nicollet County, to Robert and Clara (Wendt) Bleick. She married Gilbert A. Kiecker on Oct. 18, 1948 at Ridgely Lutheran Church Parsonage in Ridgely Township, Nicollet County. They farmed in Renville County until 1966 when they moved to Gaylord. She worked at Nagel Packing Co. in Arlington and Fingerhut in Gaylord for 20 years. In 1989 she moved to Gardenview Nursing Home in LeSueur.
