   Sarah Renae Christenson , 21, of Nicollet, died Sunday, August 8, 2004, from injuries as a result of a car accident in Mora, Minn.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet with Father Edward J. Ardolf celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
   Sarah is survived by her parents, Kevin J. and Barbara J. Christenson of Nicollet; sisters, Amanda and Hannah; by a brother, Matthew; and by many close friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
   She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Charlotte Christenson of Bird Island, and Frank and Jean Schnoes of Paullina, Iowa; an uncle, Walter Corson; and by a cousin, Shawn Christenson.
   Sarah was born on July 20, 1983, in Olivia to Kevin and Barbara (Schnoes) Christenson. She attended Nicollet Public School K-12 graduating in 2002. She was employed at In-Laws Restaurant in Nicollet and Menards in St. Cloud. She attended Saint Cloud State University for two years majoring in Communication Disorders-Sign Language.
   Sarah had a zest for life, was outgoing, fun, kind, and respectful. She really cared about people and touched many lives through babysitting. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crafts, and sewing. Sarah was also an accomplished photographer. She was a member of the Newman Center Christ Church in Saint Cloud and the Women's Choir at Saint Cloud State University. Her twinkling brown eyes and big smile will be greatly missed. Sarah got the most of every day and lived life to the fullest.

    Moline 'Lena' (Johnson) Ekman , 89, of Saint James, died Monday, August 9, 2004, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James.
   Services are 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery
   Visitation is 10:30-11:30 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
   Moline "Lena" Johnson Ekman, daughter of Reinder and Dena (Hassebrock) Johnson was born January 25, 1915 at Lakota, Iowa.
   

   Ann Gulden 91, of Pierz, formerly of Searles, died Monday, August 9, 2004, at the Pierz Villa.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church in Searles with Father John Richter celebrating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and 7-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm. A parish prayer service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
   Ann Marie Dahmen, the daughter of Nicklaus and Catherine (Brausen) Dahmen, was born March 18, 1913 in Granite Township, Morrison County.
   She was united in marriage to Vic Breu in 1936. She helped Vic in the operation of Breu Brothers Garage by changing tires, oil, and pumping gas.
   Ann also cooked for the priests in Searles. Her family and friends especially enjoyed her fried chicken and delicious pies. She liked quilting with friends and making homemade sausage and bread. After Vic's death, Ann continued to live in Searles. She married Rudy Gulden in 1969. Together they enjoyed fishing and traveling, and especially enjoyed their trip to Germany to visit relatives. Rudy died in 1974. Ann lived in Searles until July 2000 when she moved to North Point in Mankato. In August 2003 she moved to Pierz to be closer to her nieces.
   She always made people feel welcome when they came through her door. Ann's beautiful smile lit up her face and she will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
   Survivors include her sister, Irene Dahmen Probasco of Mooresville, NC; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husbands, Vic Breu and Rudy Gulden; brothers, Leo, Leonard, Lawrence, Al, Ed, Alfred, Bill, Nicky and Andy; and sisters, Loretta, Regina, Helen and Clara.
   Food donations for the funeral should be left at the Searles Town Hall, due to construction in the fellowship hall of the church.

    Judge William B. Mather , 90, formerly of New Ulm, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
   Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Church of Christ in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm, and one hour prior to service at the church. A combined Shrine and Eastern Star service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

   Monica Magnenat , 69, formerly of the Fairfax area, died suddenly of a heart attack Aug. 3, 2004, at her home at 912 E. Willow St., Sequim, WA.
   She was born Aug. 30, 1934, in Wellington Twp., Fairfax, the daughter of Hilmer and Ordell Kiecker, who preceded her in death. She was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Wellington, and attended its parochial school eight years. She graduated from Fairfax H.S. and received her degree in Registered Nursing from Kahler School of Nursing, Rochester, MN, and later obtained a degree to teach nursing. On July 21, 1957, she married Ralph Magnenat and moved to CA, later living in ID and WY before retiring to Sequim, WA.
   She is survived by her husband, Ralph; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Kolbe of Seattle, WA; and one son, Stephen Magnenat of Lewiston, ID; one sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Dallas Arhart of Winthrop; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Patricia Kiecker of Luck, WI, and Michael and Linda Kiecker of Fremont, WI; nephews and nieces and their families and many relatives and friends.
   She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sequim and a tireless worker for the sick and needy, concerned for the welfare of others and volunteering to help with many public and charitable programs.
