   Catherine Groebner, 83, of New Ulm, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at New Ulm Medical Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
   Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of the service at the funeral home.
   A complete obituary will appear in a future edition.

   Edward Peck , 92, of Arlington, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
   Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Lake Sarah Lutheran Church, with burial in the Hoiland Lutheran Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. at today at the Tracy Area Funeral Home in Tracy, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.
   He is survived by his wife Margaret; sons, Darrold of Worthington, Robert of Harris, and Dennis of Plymouth; daughter Betty Roiger of Arlington; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and sister Edna Schmidt of Walnut Grove.
   Edward Samuel Peck was born April 10, 1910, to Clarence and Maria Peck in Revere.

   Genevieve 'Jenny' Petersen , 90, of New Ulm died Monday, August 12, 2002, at the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
   Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
   Jenny is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Ken Rolloff of New Ulm; a son, Ken Petersen of Hudson, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emor "Pete" Petersen on November 22, 1962; a sister, Angeline Guemmer; brothers, Harold and Roman Arbes; and a daughter-in-law, Audrey Petersen.
   Jenny was born August 29, 1911, in New Ulm to Charles and Wilhelmina (Windschitl) Arbes. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in New Ulm. She married Emor "Pete" Petersen on October 28, 1940 at the St. George Catholic Church in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. Jenny lived her entire life in New Ulm until April 22, 1996 when she moved to the Lafayette Good Samaritan Center. On September 8, 2000, she moved to the Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan. She worked at various businesses during her lifetime including the Wearwell Garment Factory, Webcor, Cudahy Packing Plant, Tony Downs in Madelia and Oswald Laundry and Dry Cleaning. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. She enjoyed watching TV game shows, listening to old time music, putting jigsaw puzzles together and working on crossword puzzles.
   
   
   

   Fred P. Riebel, 73, of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
    Arrangements are pending with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

   Roman J. Rothmeier , 78, of Gerald, Mo., and formerly of Redwood Falls and Clements, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at a carecenter in Gerald, Mo.
   Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Clements.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.
   He is survived by his wife Clara Rothmeier of Gerald, Mo.; son Michael Rothmeier of Rogers, Ariz.; daughters, Patricia Kerkhoff of Logan, Iowa, Jeanette Rainwater of Fort Colins, Colo., and Cheryl Garner of Sullivan, Mo; seven grandchildren; brothers, Don Rothmeier of Clements, and Norbert Rothmeier of Elkton, S.D.
   Roman J. Rothmeier was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Sleepy Eye, to Michael and Wilhelmina (Boettger) Rothmeier.
   He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart.

    Dennis 'Denny' Schnobrich, 82, of 715 South German Street in New Ulm, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at his home. Arrangements are pending with the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
