   Anita H. K. Luebke, 92, of Riverside, Calif. and formerly of New Ulm died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999 at Community Care Rehabilitation Center in Riverside, Calif.
   Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
   Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
   She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert H. and Pat Luebke of Riverside, Calif., Conrad C. and Maria Luebke of El Paso, Texas; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Conrad F. Luebke in 1948.
   She was born on July 5, 1907 in Westpoint, Nebr., to Fred and Christine (Freeze) Wessel. She married Conrad F. Luebke in 1931 in New Ulm. They owned and operated the Luebke Tailor Shop in New Ulm, where she worked as a seamstress. After the death of her husband she continued to operate the business until she and her family moved to Riverside, Calif., She was currently a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverside, Calif., and had been a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and later St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

   Malvina 'Mollie' Garman, 89, of Princeton, formerly of Morton, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999 at Elim Home, Princeton.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Morton, with burial in the city cemetery.
   Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Saturday.
   Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, is in charge of the arrangements.
   She is survived by children, Rawleigh Jr. and wife Helen of Gilbert, Mary Ann Wynn Smith and husband Bill of Elk River, Glen and wife Betty of Onemia and Larry and wife Brenda of Big Lake; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Vern in 1963 and Ralph in 1978; grandsons, David and Mike in 1975; one brother; and three sisters.
   She was born Sept. 26, 1909 in Renville County, to Ole and Mary (Kvendru) Helgeson. She resided with her family in Redwood and Renville counties and attended District 28 schools. She married Rawleigh (Rollie) Garman on Dec. 23, 1929 in Belview. They resided in Morton. Rawleigh died July 27, 1979. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Morton, most of her life, the Ladies Aid and Morton Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Redwood Falls.

   John Groebner, 45, of rural Clements, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Springfield Medical Center.
   Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.

   Esther Pankonin, 89, of Lamberton, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.

   Earl Kruger, 80, of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, August 11, 1999 in Sleepy Eye.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery, veterans Memorial Garden Section, Sleepy Eye, with military rites by the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
   He is survived by his wife, Delores of Sleepy Eye; daughters, Darlene and husband Adam Kotelnicki of Litchfield, Charyl and husband Dave Peterson of St. Peter; grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew, Matthew and Stephanie Kotelnicki and Elizabeth, Michael and Daniel Peterson; sisters, Eleanor Beckstrand of Apache Junction, Ariz. and Jean Kennedy of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Ken and wife LaVonne Kruger of New Hope; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence Kruger; brothers-in-law Jack Kennedy and Harold Beckstrand; and nephew Robert Beckstrand.
   He was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Greenleaf Township, Meeker County, to Carl and Elsie (Duehlmeir) Kruger. He grew up and attended country school in Greenleaf Township, where he worked on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne, during World War II from March 1942 to January 1946. He served in the European Theater including the Liberation of Paris, Battle of the Bulge and the capture and occupation of Berlin. He married Delores Sandhofner on June 4, 1953 in Sleepy Eye. He worked as a mechanic at Beckstrand Implement in Sleepy Eye until it was sold. Then he worked at Del Monte in the farm shop and garage as a mechanic for more than 28 years. He retired in August 1981. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Isaac-Radl VFW Post 800, Benjamin A. Remmele American Legion Post 7 and the Sportsman Club, all in Sleepy Eye.

   Donald Bartz, 70, of Isle, formerly of rural Morton, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital.
   Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, with burial in the Morton City Cemetery.
   Visitation is noon until time of services Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home.
   He is survived by his wife Ruth; children, Diane Fjerstad of Taylor Falls, Debra Lyback of Isle and James of St. Cloud, as well as many adopted and foster children, including Theresa Bartz, of the family home; sisters, Grace Lothert and Marilyn Vogl and husband Donald of Morton; and sister-in-law Margaret Bartz of Morton.
   He was preceded in death by son William; daughter Carol; brothers, Robert and Arnold Bartz in 1985; and sisters, Mildred and Rose Marie.
   He was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Redwood Falls, to William and Leona (Fogel) Bartz. He attended District 28 country schools in Renville County and also attended agriculture school at Morris. He married Ruth Hyde on Dec. 28, 1950, in Minneapolis. They lived in Renville County and then moved to Minneapolis for a short time before moving to Isle where they have lived for the past 25 years. He farmed years ago and ran a resort in Isle for a number of years before retiring. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Isle.

   Gladys M. Flantz, 72, of Gaylord, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1999, at Fairview University Medical Center, Minneapolis.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Fenske Funeral Home, Gaylord, and will continue Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
   She is survived by son, Bruce Flantz and wife Melanie Williams of Winthrop; daughters, Anita Flantz and husband Michael Rahn of Salinas, Calif. and Mary and husband Alan Marschall of Burnsville; sisters, Irene and husband Lawrence Krecklau of Hutchinson, Leona Skaro of Gaylord, and Sarah Swenson of St. Peter; brother John and wife Eleanor Paulmann of Gaylord; and grandchildren, Maggie and Geordie Flantz, Alyssa Rahn and Amelia and Ted Marschall.
   She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Dale on Nov. 19, 1989.
   She was born Aug. 14, 1926 in New Auburn Township, to John and Katherine (Trocke) Paulmann. She was a 1944 graduate of Arlington-Green Isle High School and attended Glencoe Teachers College for a year. She taught in rural school for five years in the Sibley County area. She married Dale Flantz on Oct. 1, 1949 in New Auburn Township. She was a homemaker, a member of Gideons Circle and WELCA.

   Cora Markeson, 90, of St. James, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999 at St. james Health Services Hospital.
   Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at La Salle Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.
   Pease Funeral Home, St. James, is in charge of arrangements.
   She is survived by son DuWayne (Duke) and wife Marlys of Wayzata; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; sister-in-law Stella Paulson of Sleepy Eye; and brother-in-law Clifford markeson of Mankato.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Charles; one brother; and four sisters.
   She was born Nov. 13, 1908 in Lake Hanska Township, Brown County, to Peter and Tilda (Thompson) Paulson. She attended rural school in Lake Hanska and Linden townships and graduated from Hanska High School in 1923. She married Lawrence Markeson on March 30, 1926 in Lake Hanska. They lived in several communities in the area then moved to La Salle in 1948 and to St. James in 1984. She was a member of La Salle Lutheran Church
