Melva (Mrs. Marvin) Wolf, 79, of 1217 N. Franklin St., New Ulm, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at Lake Crystal Health Care Center. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of arrangements. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Lorentz Gens of Truman; nieces and a nephew, Lynn Gosewisch of New Ulm, Barb Grieman of Shakopee, and Wally Zempel of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; a sister, Norva Gens; and a brother, Lyle Zempel. She was born March 15, 1921, Ceresco Township, Blue Earth County, to Herman and Lydia (Henslin) Zempel. She was a graduate of Amboy High School. She attended nursing school. She married Marvin Wolf at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She worked at Loretto Hospital in New Ulm and at the Madelia Hospital until retiring. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Eugene "Jack" Clement Remker, 80, of St. James, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at St. James Health Services Hospital. Services are 10:30 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, St. James, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, St. James. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church Saturday. Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, is in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughters, Linda and husband Rodney Eldevik of Alexandria, Deborah and husband Brad Romsdahl of New Prague; sons, Mark of Hayward, Wis., Jack of St. James; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and half-sister Pat and husband Charles Butts of Cantonment, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was born July 14, 1920, in St. James, to Clement and Ruth (Crain) Remker. After graduating from St. James High School in 1940, he worked at Railroad Ice House, St. James. He married Jeanette Elean Dougherty on July 14, 1947, in Butterfield. They lived in St. James, where he worked at Grain Products for 28 years. He worked for a short time at Westin Automotive before retiring.
