   Warren 'Homer' Ahlness, 45, of New Ulm and formerly of Hanska died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, in Cass County of an apparent heart attack while on vacation.
   Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Linden Lutheran Church, rural Hanska, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. at the Firle Funeral Home in Hanska, and one hour prior to services at the church.
   He is survived by his daughter, Jenna Leigh Ahlness; son Jackson Lee Ahlness, both of New Ulm; parents, Jerry and Donna Ahlness of Hanska; brother, Steve Ahlness of Mora; sister, Judy Anderson and her husband Steve of New Ulm; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
   He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
   He was born Feb. 18, 1954, in Madelia to Jerry and Donna (Pierson) Ahlness. He attended grade school in Hanska and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1972. He attended Mankato State University and received a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He later sold insurance and also farmed with his father in Linden Township, Brown County. For the past several years he has worked of the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier in the Hanska area. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm, a former member of Linden Lutheran Church in rural Hanska. He was also a member of the New Ulm Country Club.

   Albert 'Bud' Haecherl, 67, of rural Tracy, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at his home.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy.
   Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today at Jacobson Funeral Home in Tracy with a parish rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
   He is survived by his wife, Frannie of Tracy; daughters, Cyndi and her husband Ken Holm of Balaton, Kay Haecherl and Darryl Stanton of Eden Prairie; sons, David and his wife Mari Haecherl of Lake Sarah, and Jon and his wife Tammy Haecherl of Tracy; nine grandchildren; brothers, Norbert of Charlotte, N.C. and William Haecherl of the San Francisco Bay, Calif. area; sisters, Marjorie Carpenter of Charlotte, N.C., Lorell Weiderholt of Richmond, Calif., and Arlene Fannin of Lafayette, Calif.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arch; and sister, Beatrice Hagert.
   He was born Jan. 24, 1932, at Lisbon, N.D. to William and Thersia (Augustine) Haecherl. The family moved to the Leavenworth/Comfrey area living there until 1941 when they moved to Tracy. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1949. He enlisted in the Army National Guard which was called to active duty during the Korean Conflict. He married Frances "Frannie" Dallenbach at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy on July 21, 1956. They lived in the Tracy area . He farmed until 1967 when he became a contractor. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
