Francis Joseph Burtzel , 70, of Redwood Falls and formerly of Seaforth, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Services are 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 1, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Seaforth. Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Sunday, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls, followed by a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.; and continues one hour before the service Monday at the church. He is survived by brother Gerald of Kasota. He was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Sheridan Township, Redwood county, Minn., to Joseph and Marie (Bernardy) Burtzel. John 'Jack' Carlson , 68, of Springfield, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at st. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield. Daniel David LamfersCOMFREY -- Daniel David Lamfers, 78 of Comfrey died Aug. 27, 2003, at the V.A. Medical Center in Minneapolis. Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Friday, and 7:30-10 a.m., Saturday, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey. A parish prayer service is 6 p.m., Friday, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey. Services are 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Comfrey with burial in the church cemetery., He is survived by wife Alyce of Comfrey; daughter Deanna Zea of Hanska; three grandchildren; brothers, Paul Lamfers of Amiret, Heyeand Lamfers of Tracy; sister Martha Lindquist of St. James. Daniel David Lamfers was born July 7, 1925, in Mountain Lake, Minn., to Ben J. and Gazena (Schmidt) Doris Nicklasson , 81, of 715 S. German St. in New Ulm, formerly of Minneapolis/Eagan and Westbrook, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook, with burial to follow in the Westbrook City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Arrangements are with the Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm. Doris Kristina Nicklasson, the daughter of Ernst and Henny (Nilsson) Nicklasson, was born May 24, 1922, at Westbrook, where she spent her youth and attended school. After graduating from Westbrook High School in 1940, Doris attended Macalester College. She worked in Redwood Falls and Sleepy Eye, before moving to the west coast where she worked in support of the war effort during World War II. Doris worked nearly 35 for the Department of Agriculture in Minneapolis and Cincinnati, Ohio. Following her retirement in 1975, Doris continued to enjoy travel. She moved to New Ulm in September 2002. She was a member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Survivors include her brothers, Henry Nicklasson and his wife Jean of Montevideo, Fred Nicklasson of Litchfield, and Clarence "Wheezer" Nicklasson and his wife Vi of Lake Allie at Buffalo Lake; sister-in-law, Avis Nicklasson of New Ulm; five nieces, Bettianne Wirtz and her husband Bob of New Ulm, Barbara Nicklasson of Eagan, Jodi Noding and her husband Brian of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Pam Nicklasson of Dallas, Texas, and Lisa Schefers and her husband Dan of Waite Park; two nephews, Bob Nicklasson of North Pole, Ark., and John Nicklasson and his wife Nancy of Litchfield; great-nieces and greatnephews. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by brothers, Gordon, Harry and Robert Nicklasson; and sister Joyce Noding. Dean Sorbe , 78, of Bloomington and formerly of Gaylord, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Martin Luther Manor of Bloomington. Service is 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation is 9-11 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. He is survived by wife Jeanneta Sorbe of Bloomington; son Thomas Sorbe of Burnsville; stepsons, Jim Kluegel of Urbana, Ill., Gary Kluegel of Jordan and Rick Kluegel of Bloomington; daughter, Beverly Miles of Bloomington; brother, Dale Sorbe of Inver Grove Heights; sister, Lorraine Grams of Gaylord; five stepgrandchildren. He was born April 14, 1925, in Winthrop, to William and Olive (Goetschius) Sorbe.
