   Florence Towler, 96, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at the Redwood Falls Hospital.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Chruch in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday with an Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and at the church Thursday, one hour prior to the service.

   Edna Suess, 89,of Hutchinson, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson.
   Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hutchinson, with burial in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
   Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
   Arrangements are being handled by the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson. A complete obituary will be published in a later edition of The Journal.

   Henry C. Mathistad, August 31, 2000, at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Butterfield.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James.
   He is survived by his wife Elisie of Butterfield; daughter Mavis and husband Tom Bearie of Watertown; son Roger of Morristown; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alice Askevold, Mabel Beck, Esther Bosshardt, and Ragna Schneider; brothers, Charlie, Selmer "Sam", Helmer "Ham", Palmer "Pete", Carl "Syver", John, and William "Bill".
   He was born April 8, 1912, in Jackson County, to Christian and Anna (Grev) Mathistad. Henry farmed with his brothers on the family farm before entering active duty with the U.S. Army in May 1942. He was stationed in Europe with the 743rd Tank Division and was involved in the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Following his honorable discharge in October 1945, he was employed by the railroad on the section line between Butterfield and Comfrey. He married Elsie Louise Geiger on Oct.20, 1951, in Comfrey. They made their home in Butterfield, as Henry did some construction work before taking jobs at Butterfield Foods and Tony Downs Foods, St. James. He retired in 1971. He was a member of First Lutheran Church; VFW Post No. 9607; and Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Butterfield.

   Harry Finkelson, 92, of Madelia, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at the Austin Medical Center, Austin.
   Arrangements are pending with the Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia.
