Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield is handling arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Hauth of Springfield; brother, Gordon Hauth of Springfield; sisters, Renata and husband Lawrence Middleton of Springfield; brother-in-law, Wilbert Quiram of Lamberton; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Schwardt of Fairmont, Irene and husband Delbert Kietzer of Lewisville, Henrietta and husband Jack Johnson of Fairmont; brother-in-law, Bernhardt and wife Sharon Schwardt of St. James; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Olinda Hauth in infancy, Mildred Quiram, Irene Fromm and husband Alfred Fromm, and sister-in-law, Marlys Hauth. He was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Bashaw Township, Brown County. to August and Louise (Schultz) Hauth. He attended country school. He farmed with his brother Gordon and his nephews. He married Bernice Schwardt on April 19, 1975, at St. John Lutheran Church, South Branch. He retired in 1995. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran church, Byron Broste, 75, of 1610 Sunset Ave., New Ulm, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Hanska. Burial with full military honors conducted by the veterans organizations of New Ulm will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Firle Funeral Home, Hanska, and continues one hour before services at the church. A full obituary will appear in Friday's edition. Glenn A. Ruby, 84, of 1315 S. Washington, New Ulm, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999 at the New Ulm Medical Center. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday in the Soldiers' Rest section of the New Ulm City Cemetery. There will be no reviewal or visitation. Firle Funeral Home of New Ulm is handling the arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Florence; son, Steven and his wife Patricia Ruby of Brooklyn Park; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers, and his aunt and uncle who raised him as a child. He was born March 30, 1915 in Charleston, N.C., to Altha and Erma (Mace) Ruby. After both his parents died during his childhood, he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Dr. and Mrs. Ray Wycoff in Nebraska. He later lived in Morris to live with his sister. He entered the United Stated Army in November 1940. He married Florence Thompson on April 18, 1943 in Benson. Following his honorable discharge in the fall of 1945, the couple made their home in various communities. They moved to New Ulm in 1969 where they owned and operated The Shoe Box. He retired in 1979. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
