   Audrey Stanton, 77, of Buffalo Lake, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Olivia Healthcare Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake with burial in the city cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and continues at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are handled by Hughes Funeral Home
   She is survived by her husband, Clayton Stanton; sister, Elaine Brede and her husband Orville of Hastings; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Doll of Minneapolis; two nieces, two nephews and many other relatives and friends.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Orville Doll.
   She was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Colman, S.D. to Frank and Louise (Zaft) Doll. She grew up in the Waubay, S.D. area. After graduation from high school, she attended college in Aberdeen, receiving her teaching degree. She married Clayton Stanton on June 6, 1948 in Buffalo Lake. She taught at various schools in the area. She taught sixth grade at the Hector School until retirement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

    Wayne Roberts, 80, Rt. 2 New Ulm, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at his home.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Cambria Presbyterian Church, Cambria with burial with full military honors conducted by the Evan American Legion Post 329 and the New Ulm veterans organizations in the Cambria Cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church.
   He is survived by wife, Gladys of New Ulm; son, Thomas Roberts and his wife Charlene of New Ulm; daughter, Lorie Jo Roberts of New Ulm; five grandchildren; sisters, Iva Roberts of New Ulm, Donna Hewitt and her husband Glen of New Hope; sisters-in-law, Lois Roberts and Virginia Roberts, both of New Ulm; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by an infant son, Dana, and two brothers.
   He was born Jan. 4, 1919, to Peter and Eunice (Davis) Roberts in Cottonwood Township, Brown County. He grew up on the family farm and attended country schools. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1936. In 1941, he entered the United States Army. During World War 11, he served overseas as a paratrooper. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the New Ulm area. He married Eunice Hornicek on Oct. 13, 1946, in Sidney, Nebr. They farmed in Cambria Township, Blue Earth County. He was a member of the Cambria Presbyterian Church, and the Evan American Legion Post 329 of Cambria.
   

   Nancy J. Bruns, 59, of rural Gibbon died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon and continues one hour before the service Friday at the church.
   She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Paul Haagof Eden Valley, Penny and Rick Brynildson of Andover, and Paul and Chris O'Brien of Hudson, Wis.; grandchildren, Andrea, Kyle, and Evan Haag of Eden Valley, Thomas Brynildson of Andover, and Erin and Elizabeth O'Brien of Hudson, Wis.; and brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Carol Sommers of Walker.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Elroy Bruns on Oct. 21, 1993.
   She was born on Feb. 11, 1940 in North Redwood to Wesley and Glorene (Manthei) Sommers. She graduated from Gaylord High School in 1958, attended Macalester and the North Central College in Naperville, IL. She earned her degree in business from the Minnesota School of Business. She worked at the Medical Arts Building for Dr. Paul Blake. She married Elroy Bruns on Oct. 20, 1962, at United Church of Christ in Gaylord. They farmed in Moltke Township, Sibley County. She also worked for the GFW Community Education and the Gibbon Gazette writing recipes and as a type setter. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon and Sibley Farm Bureau. She served as a district promotion and education coordinator.

   Lawrence Schopper, 88, of Lamberton, died Sept. 21, 1999, at Springfield Medical Center.
   Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton with burial in the city cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.
   He is survived by son, Jerry and wife Lillian Schopper of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; daughter, Melva Jean Schiller Mesa, Ariz; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by wife, Lillian; an infant grandson, Gerald Schopper; brothers, Elmer, Emery and Al Woolsey and Lyle, Jack, Jess, Floyd and Daryl Schopper; and sisters, Shirley Westerlund and Phyllis Rooney.
   He was born Oct. 8, 1910, in Jeffers to Emil and Minnie Schopper. He attended country school. He worked for Works Progress Administration in road construction. On May 7, 1932, he married Lillian Anderson in Flandreau, S.D. The family moved to Brooten, Minn., where he farmed. The family later moved to Sauk Centre, where he farmed and contracted threshing machines to farmers. The family moved to South St. Paul where he worked in the stockyards. They then moved to Detroit where he worked as a carpenter until retiring in 1973. He and his wife retired in Mesa, Ariz. Following his wife's death, he moved to Lamberton and worked part-time on the Schiller farm. In 1997, he entered Valley View Manor in Lamberton.

   Cecillia B. Hacker, 83, of Minneapolis and formerly of rural Fairfax died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Walker City View Nursing Home in Minneapolis.
   Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin with burial in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Cairo Twp, Renville County.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax; and continues one hour prior to service at the church. There will be a rosary service at 6 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral chapel in Fairfax.
   She is survived by her sons: Jerome Hacker and his wife Roberta of Blaine; George Hacker and his wife Kathy of Champlin, and Leo Hacker and his wife Terrijo of Jackson; daughter Helen Berg of Circle Pines; nine grandchildren and spouses; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Roman Hacker and his wife Hilda of Fairfax; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by husband, Lawrence, on Aug. 7, 1975; brothers, Frank, George, Joe; and sister, Dorothy.
   She was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Wellington Township, Renville County, to George and Christina (Voltin) Blumhoefer. She grew up in the Fairfax area where she attended country school. She married Lawrence Hacker on Oct. 4, 1939, in Fairfax. They lived in rural Fairfax. She worked as a nurses aide at the Ren-Fair Nursing Home. She moved into the Circle Pines Apartment complex in Jackson for two years before she entered the Walker City View Nursing Home in Minneapolis.
   She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, where she was active in the past with the CCW and the Catholic Aid.

    Cardinal C. 'Bud' Bacon, 78, of Hinckley, formerly of New Ulm, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999.
   Funeral services will be 11:30 Friday at Peterson-Stohlberg Columbia Park Chapel, 3207 Central Ave. NE, Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
   He is survived by daughters, Cardena Tatge and her husband Ramont, Candis Wilfahrt and her husband Gene; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Prohaska; many friends.

    Larry Read, 60, of Redwood Falls, died Tues. Sept. 21, 1999 at his home.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and continues one hour before services Friday at the church.
   He is survived by his wife, Nora Jean Read of Redwood Falls; son, Larry Read and his wife Peggy of Hutchinson; son Charles Read and wife Teresa of Buffalo; daughter, Tammy Dauer and husband Chris of Redwood Falls and six grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Esther Read.
   He was born Sept. 28, 1938, in Nevada, Iowa to Lawrence and Esther (Larsen) Read. He moved with his family as an infant to Morgan and attended Morgan country school and high school. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1956. He married Nora Jean Smith on April 5, 1964, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Morgan. They farmed in rural Redwood Falls until 1984 when they moved to Redwood Falls. He was custodian at the Redwood Falls Schools for several years and at Wabasso school for a year. He drove cement truck until retiring in 1996. He served on the Redwood County Fair Board for 15 years, serving several years as president. He had been a 4-H leader, was a member of the 4-H Federation and served on the 4-H council. e was a Sabbath school teacher in Morgan and also served as deacon and elder.

   Luella Scharbach, 93, of Madelia, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999 at Madelia Community Hospital.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by her husband, Donald; and many nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Eddie, John, Arnold, Joseph and Harry; sisters Alma, Agnes and Minnie.
   She was born Jan. 15, 1906, in Linden Township, rural Hanska, to Nichol and Julianna (Lundberg) Nelson. She grew up in rural Hanska and attended District 37 and Madelia High School, graduating in 1924. She attended Mankato Normal School and graduated in 1925. She taught rural schools from 1926-41, living in Watonwan, Todd, Washington and Brown counties. She married Donald Scharbach on Oct. 17, 1942. After he returned from military service in 1947, they moved to Minneapolis where she worked 20 years in the dietary department at Mt. Sinai Hospital. In 1977 they moved to Madelia. She became a resident of Luther Memorial Home in 1997. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was active with the Prairie Friends.

   Harry J. Schmidt, 97, formerly of Searles and the Hanska Area died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
    Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.

   James Korslund, 97, of New Ulm, and formerly of Hanska, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at Northfield City Hospital.
   Arrangements are pending with Firle Funeral Home, Hanska.

   Ruth Hume, 85, of Springfield and formerly of Sanborn, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Sanborn with burial in Sanborn City Cemetery.
   Visitation is 10-11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Sanborn. Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
   She is survived by sister Marie, and husband Val Albertson of Springfield; brothers, Walter and wife Rose Becker of East Tawas, Mich., Roland and wife Betty Becker of Springfield; 12 nephews and six nieces.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willis in 1971; brothers Otto, Carl, Kenneth and Wilbert; sisters, Erna, Esther, Martha and Margaret.
   She was born Jan. 31, 1914 in Sanborn to Henry and Maria (Heberling ) Becker. She grew up and received her education in Sanborn. On Feb. 25, 1937, she married Willis (Pete) Hume in Chicago, Ill. They lived in Chicago, where Pete was a civil engineer for Chicago Northwestern railroad. They moved to Sanborn in 1954 when Pete was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. She owned and operated the Eat a Bite Inn for a short time, then became a cook at Sanborn Public School. She moved to an apartment in Springfield in 1997 and became a resident at St. John Lutheran Home a month later. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
