Hilda Ankrum , 90, of Stillwater, died Tuesday at the Greely Health Care Center in Stillwater. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Alice F. Anderson , 88, of Lamberton, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton. Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday, and 7:30-11:30 a.m., Friday, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton. A complete obituary will be published in Thursday's edition. Marina Brau , 84, of Minneota, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Minneota Manor. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. Arrangements are with the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Marina H. Brau was born July 7, 1919, in Arcadia, Iowa, to John and Elizabeth (Leiting) Frericks. As a small child, she moved to the Wabasso area, where she attended St. Anne's Parochial School. On Nov. 21, 1938, she was united in marriage to Raymond Brau at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. The couple farmed in the Lucan area their entire married life. After Ray's death in 1995, Marina moved into Lucan. She enjoyed baking, canning and crocheting. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan, the Catholic Aid and the C.C.W. Since October of 2002, she had been a resident of Minneota Manor in Minneota. Marina is survived by two daughters and three sons with their spouses, Darlene and Vince LeGare of Minneota, Mary Ann and Delmar Portner of New Ulm, Larry and Judy Brau of Brainerd, Dale and Lynette Brau of Lucan, and LeRoy and Rosy Brau of Redwood Falls, 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by one sister and three brothers, Rose Anne and Tony Sprenger of New Ulm, Cletus and Claudine Frericks of Cass Lake, Harry and Connie Frericks of Wabasso, Marvin and Eunice Frericks of New Ulm, and sisters-in-law, Shirley Frericks of Rochester, Caroline Brau of Redwood Falls, and Marion and Sylvester Hoffmann of Lucan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; and two brothers, Norbert and Donald. Amanda Ruschmeyer , 92, of Gibbon, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Moltke Township, Sibley County, with Pastor David Radtke officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Moltke Township, Sibley county. Due to construction at the church, the funeral luncheon will be held after the cemetery service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Amanda is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ervin Ruschmeyer on Jan. 17, 2002; sisters, Esther Seemann and Ann Ruschmeyer; brothers, Dietrich, Alfred, Victor, John and Gerhard Schwecke. Mandy was born on Sept. 7, 1911, in Moltke Township, Sibley county, to Henry and Anna (Bode) Schwecke. On May 6, 1944, she married Ervin Ruschmeyer at the St. Peter's Parsonage. They lived and farmed the "Home Place" until moving to Gibbon in 1983. They traveled often, including trips to Alaska, Hawaii and Germany. During the winters, they made their home in Mesa, Ariz., for many years. She enjoyed eating out. Amanda was a member of the Sibley County Extension Club and also a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and St. Peter's LWML.
