   Elnora Davis , 91, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Hillcrest Health Care Center.
   Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, at First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Kaye Brandt officiating.
   Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Lake Crystal.
   Lake Crystal Mortuary is handling arrangements.
   Elnora was born Jan. 29, 1913, on a farm near Searles to William and Esther (Backer) Hamann.
   Elnora is survived by her two sons, Oryle (JoAnn) Davis of Medford, James (Shirley) Davis of Mankato; eight grandchildren, Deborah Ward of Jacksonville, FL, Bruce (Char) Davis Montgomery, Steve (Amanda) Davis of Glencoe, John (Kari) Davis of Chanhassen, Becky (James) Schriener of Sauk Centre and Nancy (Todd) Trautman, Tami (George) Wullschleger and Bob (Michelle) Davis of North Mankato; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
   She was preceded death by her husband Virgil and 10 siblings.
   
   
   

   Marion Stella (Walter) Lentz , 77, of Clements, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls.
   Funeral service is 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Clements.
   Visitation is 9-10 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
   Survivors include sons, Rick of Rochester, Gary of Rochester, and Alan of Redwood Falls; daughter, Maralee Drellack of Alexandria; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, Dennis Walter of Farmington.
   Marion Stella Lentz was born August 31, 1927, in Gibbon, to Michael and Emma (Gupzke) Walter.

   Warren Meyer , 71, of New Ulm, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004, from cancer at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldiers Rest Section. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday and will continue 7:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
   Warren is survived by his wife, Yvonne "Vonnie" (Mickelson/Meder) Meyer of New Ulm; a stepson, Jeffrey Meder of Hastings; sisters and brother-in-law; Lucille Christensen of Glencoe, Eleanor Marti and Georgine Portner both of New Ulm, and a twin sister, Margaret Lang and her husband, Leo, of Springfield; brothers and sister-in-law, Bill Meyer of Reno, Nevada and Herman Meyer and his wife, Mary Lou, of Pipestone; and many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents and by brothers, Fred, Bennard and Robert Meyer.
   Warren Anton Meyer, the son of Anton and Margaret (Richert) Meyer was born on July 2, 1933, in Pocahontas, Iowa. He moved to Minnesota with his family in 1937. Warren attended St. Mary's Catholic School in New Ulm and at the age of seventeen he enlisted in the military. He served with the Service Company #135 Infantry Regiment, 47th Infantry Division during the Korean War. On June 23, 1978 he was united in marriage to Vonnie (Mickelson) Meder in Gibbon. After marriage they lived in New Ulm. Warren worked for the City Meat Market in New Ulm for twenty years . For the past thirty-four years he has worked for the Central Livestock Association in St. Paul as a field rep, where he was still employed part time.
   Warren was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, a former member and past president of the New Ulm Country Club, a past member of Turner Hall, a current member of the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post #132 in New Ulm and the Deer Hunters Association. He was well known in the community as an avid mushroom hunter, a hunter, and a fisherman. His love in life was spending time with his poodle "Spinner," watching T.V., especially the Minnesota Vikings, cooking, and playing cards.
   

   Virgil Nelson , 77, of rural Winthrop, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
   Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 9, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop with Pastor Paul C. Tessmer officiating. Burial will be in the Winthrop Cemetery.
   Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
   Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
   Virgil is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Elaine Nelson of Winthrop; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Dale Olson of North Oaks, Joyce and Gary Schuette of Minnetonka, and Ruth and Jim Bauer of Winthrop; sons and daughter-in-law, Ken Nelson of Minneapolis, and John and Cindy Nelson of New Ulm; his grandchildren, Stephanie and Megan Bauer, Alex and Michael Nelson, and Danny and Katie Olson; a sister, Myrtle Gustafson of Winthrop; brothers and a sister-in-law, Vincent Nelson of Longmont, Colorado, and Victor and Karen Nelson of Norco, California.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Donald Gustafson; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Nelson.
   Virgil Kenneth Nelson was born on October 8, 1926, in New Ulm, to Algot and Della (Isenberg) Nelson. On September 27, 1948, he married Elaine Tomaschko at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. After marriage, he farmed near Winthrop until 1956. He then moved with his family to Austin and New Ulm where he was an investment salesman for two years. Upon moving his family back to his home farm near Winthrop, he was a delivery driver for Midland L.P. Gas Company until an accident necessitated a career change. He attended Mankato Commercial College and earned an accounting degree. He put that degree to work as a bookkeeper for the Farmers Co-op in Lafayette for several years. He then worked as a job developer both in Le Sueur for several years and in New Ulm for nineteen years before he retired in 1993. During his employment in New Ulm, he was involved with the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce. Virgil loved gardening, especially gladiolas; watching sports; and reading. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and visiting with friends at morning coffee.

   Luella Steve , 85, of Sanborn, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at Springfield Medical Center.
   Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
