Remus, 80, of Gibbon died Friday, October 8, 1999 at the Glencoe Area Health Center in Glencoe. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of the service at the church on Tuesday. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon is in charge of the arrangements. He is survived by his sister, Dora (Mrs. Ewald) Kuester of Winthrop; nieces and nephews, Kathy Gates and her husband Chuck of Forman, N.D., Scot Kuester of Winthrop, Kevin Kuester and his wife Teresa of Glencoe, Sue Kuester and her friend Phil DeLeo of Gibbon, Avonne Schuett and her husband Gerald of Brownton, Marlene Janda and her husband LeRoy of Waterville, Marlin Rose and his wife Joan of Henderson, John Hanslick and his wife Bonnie of Gibbon, Jane Bauer and her husband Kenneth of Glencoe; many grand nieces and nephews; and great grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers in law, Esther and Cleveland Hanslick, Mabel and Arthur Rose; brother in law, Ewald Kuester; and a grand niece, Bridget Caitlin Gates. He was born Jan. 7, 1919 to Henry and Minnie (Pagel) Remus in Bismark Township, rural Winthrop. He lived most of his life on the farm that he was born on, until some years ago when he moved to Gibbon. Bill was an antique collector for many years and also was the owner of "Uncle Remus Rustick Relics" in Gibbon. Bill was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon and also a member of the Lions Club in Gibbon for many years. Darwin Drill, 61, of Marshall formerly of New Ulm diedWednesday, Oct. 6, 1999 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery, Soldiers Rest Section, in New Ulm. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and will continue from 7:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. He is survived by special friend Dorothy Yochem of Marshall, children, Keith Yochem and his wife Rhonda of Pipestone, Kevin Yochem of Marshall, and Carol Muller and her husband Joe of Red Wing; a grandson Dustin Muller; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Ken Engel and Carole and Larry Konakowitz all of New Ulm; brothers and sisters-in-law Wally and Betty Drill, Richard "Rocky" and Diane Lane, Roger and Lois Drill all of New Ulm, and Floyd and Sue Drill of Nicollet; sisters-in-law, Marlys Drill of New Ulm, Arlene Drill of Hurst, Texas, and Mary Lou Lane of Lake Crystal; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harvey, Denny, and Ronald; and by a sister, Sharon. He was born June 14, 1938 in New Ulm to George and Audrey (Nelson) Drill. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and New Ulm Public High School. After his education he served in the United States Navy and then returned back to New Ulm where he worked for Heymann Construction. In 1974 he moved to Marshall where he was empolyed by Robert L. Carr Construction until 1996 when he retired because of failing health. He was a member of the American Legion Post #113 in Marshall. Veronica M. Dickmeyer, 94, of Fairfax, passed away on Thursday at the Fairfax Community Home. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Fairfax, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 8 a.m. Monday until the time of Mass at St. Andrew's. She is survived by her son, Tom Dickmeyer and his wife Ann of St. Paul; grandchildren and spouses, Craig and Jody Dickmeyer of Pequoet Lakes, Scott and Christi Dickmeyer of Cottage Grove, Timothy and Kim Dickmeyer of Woodbury, Jason and Diana Dickmeyer of Eagan; seven great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond G. Dickmeyer on April 26, 1975; brothers and sisters, John Meyer, Arthur Meyer, Chester Meyer, Molly Beck, Isabelle Bregel, Dora Anderson and Helen Meyer. She was born Feb. 16, 1905 in Fairfax to John and Mary (Mans) Meyer. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed as a youth at St. Andrew's. She attended St. Andrew's Catholic School and graduated from the Fairfax Public School in 1923. She continued her education at St. Benedicts College in St. Joseph. She married Raymond G. Dickmeyer on Sept. 19, 1927 at St. Andrews. She worked as a secretary at various jobs including the Village of Fairfax for 18 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of St. Andrew's and was active with the Christian Mother's Society. Robert J. Wildt, 74, of Clements, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at his home near Clements. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with a joint Parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 p.m., and visitation will also be Wednesday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Mary Wildt of Clements; four children, Cathy Eichten and husband Terry of Mantorville, Ron Wildt and wife Martie of Lakeville, Mark Wildt of North Mankato, and Marie Worrel and husband Adam of North Mankato; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and his parents. Robert Joseph Wildt was born May 7, 1935 in Morgan, the son of George and Ruth (Sprangler) Wildt. He grew up and attended St. Michael's School, and graduated from Morgan High School in 1953. He entered the U.S. Army March 15, 1955 and was discharged March 14, 1957. He married Mary Esther Burghardt on Nov. 18, 1959 at Holy Trinity Church in New Ulm. They farmed in the rural Clements area for 40 years. Bob was a member of St. Michael's, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Aid, was secretary of the St. Michael's Cemetery Board, and was active in many church activities.
