   Ronald 'Ron' Stevensen, 54, of 1131 Ely Ave. in Gibbon died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999 at his home.
   Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon with burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Madelia. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the National Guard of New Ulm and St. James.
   Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and continues one hour before the service Friday at the church.
   He is survived by his wife, Joanne Stevensen of Gibbon; mother, Arlene Stevensen of Madelia; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Ron Pommerening of Vermillion; Brenda and Duane Wertz of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Renee, Ashley and Derek Wertz, and Travis, Zachary and Christopher Pommerening; great granddaughter, Kyla Jo Blackwell; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and James Sorenson of Madelia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Stevensen, Duane and Nancy Stevensen, and David and Mary Stevensen all of Madelia; and many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Stevensen; infant twin children, Brian and Sherri Stevensen; and an infant son, Scott Stevensen; sister-in-law, Virginia Stevensen; and nephew, Brad Stevensen.
   He was born on Nov. 27, 1944, in Madelia to Jacob and Arlene (Jacobe) Stevensen. In 1963 he joined the Minnesota National Guard and served for six years. He married Joanne Macho on Feb. 20, 1965 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. They lived in Madelia, Lakeville and Gibbon. He had been employed as a truck driver for 29 years at various trucking companies, most recently for R & E Enterprises of Mankato. He retired due to illness. He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon and was a member of the National Truckers Association.
