   Eunice Huseby, 81, of Adams, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Austin Medical Center.
   Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Little Cedar Lutheran Church, Adams, with burial in the Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery, Adams.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Adams Funeral Home.
   She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Bernice, of Eyota; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Porter Hemingway of New Ulm; Carol and Wayne Schramm of Adams, and Janet and Randy Stephenson of Rose Creek; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aaron in 1992; brothers, Donald and Sydney Torgerson, and grandsons, Michael and John Huseby.
   She was born Aug. 21, 1920, in Adams, to Oscar and Clara (Lewison) Torgerson. She graduated from Adams High School in 1939. She attended the University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus. She married Aaron Huseby on Oct. 28, 1941. She was the "Lucky Clovers" 4-H leader for many years, a life-long member of Little Cedars Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

   Jean Koch, 70, of New Ulm, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at her daughter's home in rural New Ulm.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Cambria Presbyterian Church, with burial in the Cambria cemetery.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church Friday.
   She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Jack, of Greenville, Texas, and Carl and Angie, of New Ulm; daughters and son-in-law, Terry and Dan Thorson, of New Ulm, and Ann Hughes of Owatonna; eight grandchildren; brothers, Tatsume Sakaguchi, Toshio Hanada and Kuntashi Sakaguchi, of Japan; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and a brother.
   She was born March 30, 1931, in Fukuoka, Japan, to Tomezo and Asano (Akroda) Sakaguchi. She graduated from high school in Fukuoka, Japan. She married Charles Koch on May 24, 1954, in Futchinovi, Japan, where her husband was stationed while serving in the U.S. Army. They moved to the U.S. in 1956 residing in various cities while her husband completed his military duties. They moved to New Ulm in 1967 where she raised her children and worked for 3M Co. for 17 years, before retiring in 1997.

   Theodore E. 'Ted' Kruggel, 82, of Winthrop, died Tuesday, Oct.30, 2001, at Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop.
   Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop is handling the arrangements.
   He is survived by his wife, Delores, of Winthrop; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Susan, of Winthrop, Gary and Lori, of Winthrop, and Charles, of Winthrop; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Kruggel of Winthrop, Donna and Sherwood Matti, of Eastman, Wis. and Connie and Allan Kalk, of Fairfax; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Marjorie Pautz, of Gibbon; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Arlene, of Apple Valley; a sister-in-law, Leona Kruggel of Winthrop, and many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his infant son, Dale, in 1960; granddaughter, Melissa Kruggel in 1981; parents, Herman and Bertha Kruggel; brother, Norman; and brother-in-law, Harry Pautz.
   He was born April 11, 1919, in Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, to Herman and Bertha (Schlueter) Kruggel. He moved with his family to Winthrop in 1921. He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1937. He married Delores Gehrke on Dec. 3, 1946, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Parsonage in Penn Township, McLeod County. The couple farmed in Alfsborg Township, Sibley County. They retired in 1984 and moved into Winthrop in August 1997. He entered the Fairfax Community Nursing Home and transferred to the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in September.
   He was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop. He served as chairman, elder, trustee, council member, and usher. He also served on the trust fund committee and the building committee.
   He was the first charter member and life member of the Winthrop Game Protective League. He also was a member of the Winthrop Senior Citizen Club. He served on the A.S.C.S. committee for nine years; the Sibley County Zoning Committee and the Gaylord Cenex Co-op Board for several years; Alfsborg Township Board for 27 years and Winthrop School Board for 18 years. He played an active part on the Winthrop Developing Committee, which searched for a doctor.

   Evelyn (Mrs. Joe) Palmer, 86, of Spring Meadows Apt. 133; 6949 Main St.; Trumbull, CT 06611, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at her home. Her husband grew up in the St. George area before moving out east.
   The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Trumbull with burial in the cemetery there.
   The Adriola Funeral Home in Trumbull is handling arrangements.
   Survivors include her husband and sons, George and wife Laura, Joey and wife Cookie, and four grandchildren.
   

   Gertrude L. Schrieber, 92, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea.
   Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
   She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Barbara, of Bloomington; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine M. and Dennis Sellner, of Wells; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Rose, of Fairmont; sister, Emma Thate, of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Polly Rose, of Truman; and many nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert, on Jan. 7, 1996; brothers and sister-in-law, Herman Rose, Ernest and Gertrude Rose, John Rose and Peter Rose; sister, Anni Mohr; sisters-in-law, Elsie Rose, Ida and husband, Helmut Grage, Minna and husband Ernest Fick, and Sophie Rose; and brothers-in-law, Benny Thate and William Schrieber.
   She was born Oct. 25, 1909, in Fehmarn, Germany, to August and Margareta (Busch) Rose. She attended school in Germany. She came to the U.S. in 1929, and she worked as a nanny in Fairmont. She married Herbert S. Schrieber on Aug. 16, 1931, in Fairmont. They lived in Winnebago, before moving to Sleepy Eye in 1932. She worked at the Palace Clothing for 27 years and also helped Herbert at the Model Shoe Shop. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and the Friendly Neighbors Home Extension Group.

   John 'Jack' G. Schumacher, 61, of Sleepy Eye, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at his home.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Japanese Martyrs, Leavenworth, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and 9:30-11 a.m. Friday at the church. A parish prayer service is 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   He is survived by his wife, Carol, of Leavenworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Kim, of New Prague, Ken and JoAnn, of Sleepy Eye, Allen and Susanne, and Pat, all of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Paul Wieneke, of New Ulm; 10 grandchildren; mother, Frances Schumacher of Sleepy Eye; brothers and sisters-in-law; Cliff and Bernette, of Sleepy Eye, Sylvan and Donna, of Sleepy Eye, Eugene and Marguerite, of Emily, Bernard and Kathy, of Warba; sisters and brother-in-law, Doris Johnson, of Arden Hills, Susan and Jeff Pelzel, of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-law, Lenora, of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin; brothers, Robert and Marvin; and brother-in-law, Robert Johnson.
   He was born Nov. 15, 1939, in Sleepy Eye, to Benjamin and Frances (Poss) Schumacher. He attended school in Leavenworth and St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. He married Carol Neidecker on Oct. 10, 1961, at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm. They lived and farmed on the home place in Leavenworth Township. He was a member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs and other community organizations.

   Violet (Otto) Dahn, 85, of Litchfield, formerly of Morgan, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Meeker County Hospital.
   Arrangements are pending with Johnson-Haglund Funeral Home of Litchfield.
