Arnold Greiner , 68, of Buffalo Lake, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at the Hutchinson Community Hospital. Services are 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector. Visitation is 5-9 p.m., Thursday at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. He is survived by his wife Luella of Buffalo Lake; daughters, Deb of Fairfax, Gayle of Stewart, Terry of Hector and Laurie of Brownton; son Dwane of Biscay; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was born April 17, 1935, in Bird Island to Eldon and Laura (Boone) Greiner. Evelyn Karnos , 90, former New Ulm resident, died of natural causes Oct. 28, 2003, at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, Wash., while on vacation. Mrs. Karnos was born Sept. 27, 1913, in New Ulm, to F. Willibald Eibner and Margaret (Krambeer) Eibner. In 1938 she married Richard (Bud) Karnos, formerly manager of the Turner Club. After the outbreak of World War II they were transferred to Ft. Lewis, Wash., along with their two sons, John and Steven. Mrs. Karnos raised the children alone and remained in Lakewood after the death of her husband, Maj. Richard Karnos in Korea in 1954. She lived in Lakewood until 1996, when she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, to be near her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On her latest vacation, Evelyn was able to visit her sister, nephews, nieces, and friends from Minnesota to Washington and Oregon. Besides many nieces and nephews, Mrs. Karnos is survived by her immediate family, John and Mary Karnos of Anchorage, Alaska, and Steven and Cheryl Karnos of Lake Bay, Wash.; sister Angeline Hamman of Corvallis, Ore.; grandchildren, Rob and Sara Karnos of Homer, Alaska, Nick and Mary Frances Karnos of Anchorage, Alaska, and Doug and Amy Bunyard of Phoenix; and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Max Karnos of Anchorage, Alaska. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother Fremont Eibner; and nephew, Tom Eibner. As she had wished, she was cremated without ceremony with a yellow rose in her hands. Memorial donations are suggested to "Friends of Pets" or any organization that protects and cares for pets. Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma, Wash., was in charge of arrangements. Leigh Lentz , 77, of Clements, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the Redwood Falls Area Hospital. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
