Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and will continue from 7:30 until noon on Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and then for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Rodewald and her husband, Ron of New Ulm; his father, Steven Peterson and his wife, Elena, of New Ulm; a brother, Chet Peterson, of Glendale, California; sisters, Jenna and Katie Rodewald of New Ulm; his grandparents, Norman and Linda Wieland, of New Ulm; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dolores and Leo Peterson. Paul was born on April 16, 1971, in New Ulm to Steven and Joyce (Wieland) Peterson. He graduated from New Ulm Public High School in the class of 1989. After high School he attended Mankato State University in Mankato for one year. He then worked in Mankato for four years before moving to Colorado living in various places there until May of this year when he moved to Brooklyn, New York. He had worked in construction while living in Colorado and was currently working in construction doing carpentry work in New York. He loved playing guitar, and while in high school he and several friends formed a band called "Broken Toyz." He continued playing in several different bands while living in Colorado and New York. Paul loved snowboarding and playing hockey.
