Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 9 - 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements. A complete obituary will appear in the Thursday edition. Malinda D. Lehmberg, 84, of Arlington, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington. Arrangements are pending with Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington. Bernice (Ganske) Truax , 72, of Skiatook, Oklahoma and formerly of the New Ulm and Comfrey area, died Sunday, November 24, 2002 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2002 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are being handled by the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Bernice is survived by her husband, Verlyn Truax, of Skiatook, Oklahoma; a daughter, Melissa Kral of San Antonio, Texas; sons and daughter-in-law, Tony Kral of Ketchum, Idaho, Paul and Suzanne Truax of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Sarah and Joshua Truax; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethel and Harold Roth of New Ulm, and Marlene and David Piere of Winthrop. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Floyd and Wallace Ganske. Bernice was born on June 1, 1930, in New Ulm to Herbert and Sophie (Goblirsch) Ganske. She attend country school in rural New Ulm and graduated from Comfrey High School in 1949. In 1949 she married Robert Kral in Minneapolis. After marriage they lived in various locations while he was in the military service. In 1961 she married Verlyn Truax in Farmington. After marriage they lived in Farmington, Albuquerque, New Mexico, San Antonio, Texas and for the past several years they lived in Skiatook, Oklahoma. She worked for Southwest Bell from 1972 until she retired in 1994. Bernice loved to garden and raise flowers and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary.
