   LuMar Johnson , 69, of Lafayette, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
   Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette, with Rev. Garry Grunzke officiating. Burial with full military honors conducted by Lafayette American Legion Post No. 300 will follow in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
   LuMar Beck Johnson, the son of Louis and Dora (Beck) Johnson, was born May 29, 1934, in Lafayette. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. LuMar entered the U.S. Army in 1954, serving in Germany. Following his honorable discharge in 1956, he returned home where he continued to farm with his family.
   LuMar was united in marriage to Bette Nelson on June 29, 1958, at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Together they farmed in Cornish Township near Lafayette. He retired in 1993. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette, where he served on the church council. LuMar was a member of Lafayette American Legion Post No. 300, the Farmers Union, and he loved auctions. He became a resident of the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in June 1999.
   Survivors include his wife Bette of Lafayette; daughter Tami Stadtherr and her husband Greg of Gibbon; sons, Scott Johnson and his wife Renee of North Mankato, Steven Johnson and his wife Koby of Owatonna, James Johnson and his wife Krystal of St. Paul, and Erik Johnson of Bloomington; grandchildren, Tina and Tony Stadtherr, and Samantha, Megan, Dominic, Klara and Bennett Johnson; sisters, Mayonne Weise and her husband Raymond of New Ulm, and Marlys Tappe and her husband Carl of Hendersonville, N.C.; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, LuMar was preceded in death by his grandson, Maxwell LuMar Johnson; and sister, Patricia Johnson.

   Charles Lingenhag passed away Nov. 30, 2003, at his home in San Antonio, at the age of 82.
   Mr. Lingenhag was born in New Ulm, on Dec. 25, 1920, to the late Charles W. Lingenhag, Sr. and Eva LaPlant Lingenhag.
   He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 27 years, including tours in Korea and Alaska during WWII. SFC Lingenhag retired from the Army in 1968 and continued to serve in the Civil Service with the Signal Corps at Fort Sam Houston for another 16 years.
   He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Eunice LaPlante Lingenhag; daughter, Marilynn Schiefelbein and husband David of Copperas Cove, Texas; daughter, Beverly Ellison and husband Jim of Floresville, Texas; daughter, Linda Lingenhag; son, James W. Lingenhag and wife Judy; daughter, Cheryl Clark and husband VanBuren, all of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Phyllis Tripp, Columbia, Mo., Pat Schmidt, New Ulm, and Blanche Bushard, Gibbon; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James A. Lingenhag; and sister, Alice Torkelson.
   Charlie was a member of V.F.W. Post 8541 and St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He loved to travel and cook for his friends and family. He will be remembered by many as a gentle man who had a smile for everyone he met.
   Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in San Antonio, with interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
   In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to charity of one's choice.

    Albert Ochs , 80, of Faribault died, Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Infinia of Faribault Health Care Center following an extended illness.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at Sacred Heart, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. with military honors.
   Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to services. Parish prayers will be recited on Monday evening at 5 p.m.
   Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault.

   Gladys Ovitt , 88, of Buffalo Lake, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
   Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. today at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake, with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church today.
   Arrangements are with the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.
   She is survived by her sons, William Ovitt of Athens, La., Bert Ovitt, Jr. of Stewart, Dean Ovitt of Lamberton, John Ovitt of Hector and Terry Ovit of Buffalo Lake; daughters, Karen Pottenger of Buffalo Lake, Sharon Stark of Buffalo Lake, Lana Benson of Stewart, and Wanda Wells of Olivia; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Hobschied and Lila Berg of Cumberland, Wis.

    Robert Windschill , 76, of St. James, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
   Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at St. James Catholic Church in St. James, with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. today and 7:30 - 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. There will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 4:30 p.m. wake service today at the funeral home.
   Robert is survived by his wife Betty of St. James; sons, Paul Windschill of St. James, Brad Windschill of Harris, and Greg Windschill of New Ulm; daughters, Karen Dupre of Michigan City, Ind., and Deb Falcon of Clark Summit, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother Ermin Windschill of Eden Prairie; and sisters, Rose Hodapp of Sherburn, and Marion Jereb of Yreka, Calif.
   Robert Windschill was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Comfrey, to Martin and Alice (Linde) Windschill. He served in the U.S. Army from July 1945 - April 1947.
