Peter Ganske, 89, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at Midway Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home. Alice Noren, 81, of St. Peter, formerly of St. James, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999 in St. Peter. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at East Sveadahl Lutheran Church, rural St. James, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, and continues one hour before services at the church. She is survived by daughters, Glenys and husband John Hulgren of Madison Lake, and Donna and husband James Brittsan of Lake Forest, Fla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Lorraine and husband Arvid Laingen of Butterfield; sisters-in-law, Mavis Matson, Florence Plath, Aladeen Noren, Cora Noren, and Vivian and husband Myron Johns; and brother-in-law Harold and wife Viola Noren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers. She was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Adrian Township, Watonwan County, to David and Olga (Samuelson) Matson. She attended Watonwan County Public Schools. She married Raymond Noren on Feb. 21, 1937, in West Sveadahl. They farmed near West Sveadahl and LaSalle, where she lived until 1983 when she moved to St. James. She was employed at LaSalle Locker Plant. She was a member of West Sveadahl Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Marjorie Mueller, 89, of Springfield, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999 at Springfield Medical Center. Mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield. A parish prayer service is 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and a St. Anne's CCW rosary is 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews; many great and great-great-grand nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Walter and John; and sisters, Florence and Marie. She was born June 17, 1910 in Springfield, to John and Hermina "Minnie" (Schwerzler) Mueller. She graduated from Springfield High School. She earned a teaching degree from Mankato State College. She taught first grade in Walnut Grove for one year and kindergarten in Springfield for 38 years. She became a resident of St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield in 1997. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St. Anne's CCW, Circa Studi Study Club, MEA and NEA. Ronald Makarrall, Sr., 66, of St. Cloud, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at his home. Services are 10:30 a.m., Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Lamberton, with burial in the city cemetery. Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today at Dingmann Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton. He is survived by wife, Vivian of St. Cloud; children and their spouses, Ron Jr. and Kathy Makarrall of Clearwater, Steve and Jean Makarrall of Laporte, Doreen and Joe Wood of Springfield, Va., Michael and Denise Makarrall of Granite Falls, Denise and Michael Henry of Richmond; brother, Percy Jr. of Redwood Falls; sister, Doris Hutchins of Long Beach, Calif.; mother-in-law, Dorothy Westerlund of Lamberton; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; and sister, Fern Mattison. He was born Jan. 12, 1933, in Tracy, to Percy Sr. and Tilda (Brudeli) Makarrall. He married Vivian Westerlund on Dec. 20, 1952, in Lamberton. The moved to St. Cloud in 1963. He worked for Lystad's Exterminating until 1982. He owned and operated Popple Bar in Laporte for 1982 to 1996. He return to St. Cloud in 1996. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in St. Cloud, VFW Post 428, American Legion Post 134. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
