Jacob Johnson, 80, of Revere, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Tracy Municipal Hospital. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lamberton, with burial in Lamberton Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today, 7:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton and at the church Thursday, one hour prior to the service. He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer of Lamberton, and Raymond and Bonnie of Lamberton; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaVonne and Clyde Prins of Tracy, Lorraine and Henry Martius of Revere and Juanita and LuVerne Pankonin of Brookings, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John. He was born April 20, 1920, in Kingsley, Iowa, to George and Anna (Raveling) Johnson. He attended country school near Remsen, Iowa. He moved to Minnesota in the early 1930s, settling in Highwater Township. He farmed with his parents there before moving to Lamberton Township in the late 1940s where he farmed . He and his brother Ray did custom trucking and baling for many years. He belonged to Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Marvin Weber, 74, of Jeffers, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at his home. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jeffers, with burial with full military rights in Jeffers Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Anderson-Schmidt Funeral Home, Jeffers, and at the church Thursday, 90 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sioux Valley Hospice. He is survived by his wife, Viola of Jeffers; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mike Vollmer of Lamberton; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ann of Savage; brothers, Raymond of Sanborn and Les of Winthrop; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Don Hellickson of Sanborn and Berneatta and Eugene Schmid of New Ulm; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alfred, Laurence, Eddie and Orvile; sisters, Elise Krause, Leona Wendland and Melinda Wendland. He was born Oct. 1, 1926, to Paul and Bertha (Beier) Weber. He attended school in Sanborn. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949, served in the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1951. He returned to the Jeffers area, farmed for several years before opening Weber's Rec., a pool hall in Jeffers. He married Viola Vandermoon on Oct. 20, 1962, in Jeffers. He later worked for Oak Grove Dairy and drove a bulk truck for Suburban Gas of Windom until retiring in 1991. He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church, Jeffers and Odegaard-Quade American Legion Post 402 in Jeffers.
