   Syril 'Sy' Garman, 83, of Sleepy Eye, formerly of Redwood Falls and Morgan, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at the Sleepy Eye Hospital.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Morgan, with burial in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, rural Redwood Falls.
   Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Morgan, and one hour prior to services at the church.
   He is survived by his wife, Lois of Sleepy Eye; children, Sylvan and wife Sandy of Alameda, Calif., Myra Selle of Burnsville and Shayne and wife Karen of Massachusetts; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
   He was preceded in death by his wife; sisters, Flava Lemcke, Alvia Garman, Lena Lemcke, Carrie Roan, Hazel Kosel and Irene Schubbert; and brothers, Aaron and August Garman.
   He was born April 7, 1917, in Alton, Ill., to Harry and Katherine (Jones) Garman. At the age of two, he moved to Redwood County. He attended country schools. He worked as a farm hand for Bill Rust near Vesta, Frieda Scheffler near Morton and Irv Greenslit. He married Mary "Yvonne" Lechner on May 21, 1938, in Redwood Falls. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 until 1945. They lived in North Redwood. He was a truck driver for Central-Bi-Products for 34 years, retiring in 1978. His wife died Aug. 1, 1980. He married Lois Menk Timm on May 27, 1989, in Morgan. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. in Redwood Falls and Morgan.

   Ella Junker, 85, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial at Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
   Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye and one hour prior to services at the church.
   She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Rosemary of Redwood Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Dennis Senst of Jeffers; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Harry Pidde of Nevis; and brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Violet Evers of Lamberton.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry in 1998; and great-grandson, Jake Whitaker.
   She was born Sept. 3, 1916, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Henry A. and Amelia (Zettler) Evers. She grew up near Comfrey. She helped on the family farm. She married Henry "Hank" Junker on Oct. 12, 1938, at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey. They farmed in the Comfrey, Lamberton and Clements areas prior to moving to Sleepy Eye. They lived and farmed near Sleepy Eye from 1957 until 1979 when they moved into Sleepy Eye. She worked seasonally at Del Monte for many years, the last five of which full-time. She retired in 1982. She moved to the nursing home in Redwood Falls in 1997. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.

   Phyllis Heinen, 67, of Springfield, died Dec. 11, 2001, at Springfield Medical Center.
   Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield with burial in Springfield City Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and continues one hour before services Friday at the church.
   She is survived by her children, Michael and wife Julie of Nicollet, Kathy and husband Douglas Price of Eagan, Beth and husband Sam Domeier of Sleepy Eye, David and wife Pam of Springfield; stepchildren Raymond L. and wife Arlette of Yankton, S.D., Lawrence, Brenda and husband Sheldon Bratsch of Hutchinson; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her mother, Florence Rassmussen of Edina; brother, Harland and wife Bev of Rapid City, S.D.; sisters, Carol and husband Jerry Osteraas of Bloomington, Anita and husband Darold Ashton of Apple Valley, Lucille and husband Hans Misvaer of Bloomington, Marian and husband Jim Johnson of Sartell, Susan and husband Rick Hogan of Golden, Colo.
   She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Rassmussen; husband Raymond and five children in infancy.
   She was born on Feb. 24, 1934, in Tracy, to Victor and Florence (Hamack) Rasmussen. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1952. She married Raymond A. Heinen on July 4, 1953, in Brookings, S.D. They lived in Springfield, where they operated the Four Seasons Drive-In and Store from 1969 to the early 1980s. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was also a member of a church circle and volunteered at St. John Lutheran Home.

   Emma A. Hageman, 88, of Comfrey, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel, with burial in Springfield City Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel, and one hour prior to services Saturday.
   She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Alden and Elaine of Elk River, Dennis and Virginia of Estherville, Iowa, Warren and Gabriela Hageman of Arlington, Va.; daughter, Diane Hageman Norback of Madison, Wis.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Adele Warr of Lamberton; sisters-in-law, Selma Hageman of Springfield, Arlene Meier of Windom, and Darlene Meier of Jeffers; and nephews and nieces.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Evan; sisters, Martha Uhlenhopp and Elsie Zoeller; and brothers, John, Herman and Albert Meier.
   She was born Jan. 24, 1913, in Storden Township, Cottonwood County, to Henry and Rosa (Hinrichs) Meier. She married Even Hageman on March 15, 1934, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. They farmed in Stately Township, Brown County, and were members of Christ Stately Church. In 1983 they moved to Comfrey and became members of Salem Lutheran Church, which is now New Hope Lutheran Church. In 1992, she moved to St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.

   William 'Bill' George Esser , 82, of Springfield, died Dec. 11, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
    He is survived by daughter, Mary and husband Dave Gross of Springfield; son, Thomas and wife, Michele Esser of Loa Osos, Calif.; five grandchildren, D.J. and Samuel Gross and Elizabeth, Mary and Margaret Esser; sister, Elizabeth (Betty) and husband Leonard Schwamberger of Lake Crystal; sisters-in-law, Alice Hodson of Mankato and Ruth Esser of St. Paul.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peg in 1997; brothers, Harold and Peter; and sisters, Flora and Blanche.
   He was born May 22, 1919, in Mankato, to Peter J. and Mabel (Hanson) Esser. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1937 and attended Smeby Display School In Minneapolis. He served with the U.S. .Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1945. On July 8, 1946, he married Anna Margaret (Peg) Hodson in Mankato. The couple lived in Minneapolis and Bemidji. In 1958 they purchased interest in Skogmos Department Store in Springfield. The store changed ownership and became known as Esser's Department Store in 1975. He was a member of St Raphael's Catholic Church, was former chairman of the church council, member of the Knights of Columbus, and he received the Bishop's Medal of Service. He was a member of the John Watson American Legion Post for more than 50 years. He was former chairman of the school board. He belonged to Springfield Rotary where he served as past president and received the Paul Harris Rotary Award. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Springfield Golf Club. He was a member of SCORE for 20 years.
   
   

   Clifford 'Cliff' Muenchow, 77, of Seaforth, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
   Services are Monday at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview, with burial at a later date.
   Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church Monday.
