Vincent Schaffer , 83, of St. James, died Dec. 15, 1999, at St. James. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at St. James Catholic CHurch in St. James with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home with a Christian Mothers rosary at 5 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 8:30 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James; and continues one hour before the service Saturday at the church. A full obituary will be published in Saturday's edition. Frank Schweinfurter, 90, of rural Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, a Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial 'in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4:30- 8:30 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with a KC rosary at 7:30 p.m. followed by a parish prayer service and continues 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. He is survived by a son, James and wife Diane of Olivia; daughters; Edith and husband Darold Christensen of Savage, Sally and husband Bob Willcox of Rosemount, nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn and husband Harold Moldestad of Redwood Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother Joseph and an infant sister Gladys. He was born on April 17, 1909, in Renville County, to Frank and Mary (Macholda) Schweinfurter. He grew up on a farm in Beaver Falls Township and attended country school. He traveled to Canada and helped build roads and also worked on the railroad. He also worked on a threshing crew from Missouri to Canada. On June 15, 1936, he married Iva May Gable in Long Prairie. They farmed near North Redwood and Beaver Falls for 61 years, retiring in 1986. Iva died on Sept. 5, 1991. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church. He helped build the Precious Blood Catholic School in Redwood Falls in the early 1960s. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus and a charter member of Fr. 0 Sullivan's Knights of Columbus. He served on the North Redwood Farmers Elevator Board for 36 years, served on the Farmers Union Board and Beaver Falls Township Board as secretary, and was a member of the R.E.A. Ralph Dunn, 6 1, of 1106 N. Broadway, New Ulm, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm. Burial will be held at a later date in Sheldon, Iowa. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday. Military honors will be conducted by the New Ulm veterans organizations immediately following the service . He is survived by his wife, Mary of New Ulm; sons, Donald Dunn of Mankato, George Dunn of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Marsha Dunn; brother, George Dunn and his wife Val of Sioux Falls, S.D.; parents-in-law, Fritz and Sue Ling of Butterfield; brother-in-law, Donald Ling of Butterfield; sisters-in-law Phyllis Dunn of Sibley, Iowa, Colleen Dunn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Pat Dunnick and her husband Delmar of Windom, Kay Holmberg of Mountain Lake, and Kay Ling of Des Moines, Iowa; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one brother-in-law. He was born June 1 3, 1938, to George and Martha (Waterstradt) Dunn,in Sheldon, Iowa. He graduated from Sheldon High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army in 1957 to 1960 and was stationed in Germany. He married Mary Ling on Nov. 20, 1960, in Sheldon, Iowa. They lived in Sibley, Iowa; Mountain Lake; and Springfield. He moved to New Ulm in 1969. He worked as a police officer and retired from the New Ulm Police Department in 1987. Leo Landsteiner, age 92, of St. James, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. Ruby CoulsonJEFFERS -- Ruby Coulson, 73, of Jeffers, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at her home. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Jeffers with burial in the Jeffers Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Anderson -Schmidt Funeral Home in Jeffers. She is survived by her husband, Vivian; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Nevada, Iowa, on June 28, 1926, to Clifford and Jordine (Forseth) Baker. She graduated from Jeffers High School. She married to Albert Paul Herbst in 1944. A few months later, he was killed in World War II. On Dec. 26,1946, she married Vivian Coulson in Minneapolis. They lived in Windom and Lincoln, Neb.; and Baker, Calif., where she was a postmistress. They relocated to Boulder City, Nev., while she continued to work in public works. They moved back to Jeffers in the late 1970s. She belonged to Jeffers United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. Marlowe Kelly, 78 of Madelia, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is Friday 5-8 p.m. at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and also one hour prior to services at the church. Pilgrim Funeral Home of Madelia handled arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Norma; daughters, Janelle Lambrecht and husband Ronnie of Madelia, Jean Hagen and husband Dan of Lino Lakes, Joyce Earl and husband Mike of Owatonna; son, Ronald of Tenstrike; five grandchildren; brothers, Gordon and wife Hilma of St. James, Donald and wife Janice of Lake Crystal; sister, Arlene Jacobson of Madelia. He was preceded in death by sisters Ilah Otto and Elsie Turbes. He was born April 25, 1921, in Hector to Emil and Ida (Sandborg) Kelly. He grew up in the Madelia area and attended school in Grogan and Garden City. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Navy Machinist's Mate First Class in the Pacific and Atlantic theaters from 1942-46. He married Norma Kassube on Sept. 27, 1953, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Antrim, rural Truman. They farmed in the Madelia area 40 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Madelia VFW. Vivian D. Axenty Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye with burial at a later date in the Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach, Calif. She is survived by daughter, Sally Timm of Sleepy Eye; half- sister, Irene Loose of Lomita, Calif., half-brother, Ronald Schutt of Lomita, Calif.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Carl Herman Jorgenson in 1940; second husband, Robert Axenty in 1972; half-brother, Forest "Sandy" Schutt; and a niece, Dianne Lee. She was born on Feb. 7, 1912, in Bemidji to Edward Albert and Marie Janet (Siems) Schutt. They lived in Schoolcraft Township near LaPorte until 1914 when her mother died and she went to live with her maternal grandparents, Louis and Meta Siems in Chicago. At ag ten, she went to live with her father and stepmother in Sleepy Eye. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1929 and then worked at various jobs in St. Paul and Vadnais Heights. She married Carl Herman Jorgenson in St. Paul. After his death in 1940, she moved to Sleepy Eye and worked in food service. In 1961, she moved to California and became head pastry cook at the South Bay Hospital in Redondo Beach, Calif. She married Robert Axenty in 1964. She moved to Springfield in 1987 and then to Sleepy Eye in 1990. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Veronica A. Windschitl , 101, of Sleepy Eye died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, in Sleepy Eye. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughters, Dolores Johanson of San Diego, Calif., Alice Manderfeld of Mankato, Rita Fagen of Bountiful, Utah, and Bernice Gordon of Bloomington; son, James and wife Pat Windschitl of Virginia Beach, Va.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Haeny of Austin; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Alexander of Green Bay, Wis., Veronica Weicherding, Lorraine Windschitl and Ann Deible all of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces and nephews. She was born Dec. 3, 1898, to John P. and Susan (Ludwig) Weicherding in Leavenworth Township. She married George Nicholas Windschitl on Sept. 10, 1919, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Sleepy Eye. She had been a resident of the Sleep Eye Care Center since 1992. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and Divine Providence Auxiliary. Eldon Dallmann , 81, of North Mankato and formerly of Nicollet, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at KNAPP Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and one hour before services Saturday at the church. He is survived by his wife, Hazel of North Mankato; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Edwin Grimes and Barbara and Monte Smith all of Dallas, Texas, Sharon and Douglas Fromm of Brooklyn Park; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Sandy Dallmann of Hopkins; 14 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister, Ardella Enter of Nicollet; brother and sister-in-law Leonhard and Eldora Dallmann of New Ulm; and sisters-in-law Cornelia Dallmann of Mankato and Ruth Dallmann of Nicollet. He was born June 14, 1918, in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, to Gustav and Anna (Maas) Dallmann. He married Hazel Wills on Sept. 24, 1941, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. They farmed in Nicollet Township for 40 years before retiring in 1980. They wintered in Texas. They moved to North Mankato in 1997. He was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Timothy N. Olinger, 38 of Monticello died Wednesday Dec. 15, 1999 at St. Cloud Hospital from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Henry's Catholic Church of Monticello. There will be a private burial. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today Friday evening at the church with a prayer service at 7 p.m.; and continues one hour before the service Saturday. Arrangements are with Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello. He was employed in management/sales for the Westburne Supply Co. of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.
