   Peter C. Rathmann, 91, 711 Ash Ave., in Gibbon died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Fairfax Community Home.
   Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. There will be a rosary by St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Society at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   He is survived by his wife, Veronica M. (Verona) Rathmann of Gibbon; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Janet Rathmann of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Kenneth Rathmann of Galt, Calif.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Kokesch, a resident of Sleepy Eye Care Center, and Helen Biebl, of Fairfax Community Home.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Otto, Edwin, and Benjamin Rathmann; and sisters, Clara Klement and Anna Twite.
   He was born on March 6, 1908, in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, to Anton and Katherine (Tauer) Rathmann. He married Verona M. Weber on Feb. 24, 1936, at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon. They farmed in Bismarck Township, Sibley for 32 years and then moved to Gibbon. He worked for the City of Gibbon for ten years and retired in 1978. He was a member of St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon and a member of the St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Society.

   David Cunningham, 42, of Madelia, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital.
   Arrangements are pending with Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia.

   Martha Melquist, 81, of Lafayette, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Lafayette Good Samaritan Center in Lafayette.
   Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation is one hour before the service at the church. Firle Funeral Home Lafayette is handling the arrangements.
   She is survived by her sons, Arvid Melquist and his wife Alvina of Winthrop, David Melquist of New Ulm; granddaughter, Annica. Melquist of Brookings, S.D.; brother, Enar Nelson of Minneapolis; sister-in-law, Esther Dauer of New Ulm; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Albin in 1984; and brother, Carl Nelson.
   She was born Nov. 3, 1912, in Minneapolis to John and Anna (Carlson) Nelson. She attended school in Minneapolis and the former Minnesota College in Minneapolis. She married Albin Melquist on Oct. 22, 1939, in Minneapolis. They farmed near Gibbon and then moved to Lafayette in 1948. She was the custodian at First Lutheran Church She became a resident of the Lafayette Good Samaritan Center in February 1997. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette.
