Edward Garbrecht, 85, of rural St. Peter, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at Franklin Healthcare Center. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Nicollet, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery, New Ulm. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church. Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm, is in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Lou Rosenau and husband Vernon of New Ulm; grandchildren, Randy Rosenau and wife Cindy of New Ulm, and Becky Rosenau and special friend Jason Melzer of New Ulm; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah and Travis Rosenau of New Ulm; sister, Esther Brueske and husband Art of New Ulm; brother-in-law, Wilford Maas and wife Ardella of Nicollet; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie and brother Elmer. He was born March 8, 1914, in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, to Edward and Wilhelmina (Pehling) Garbrecht. He married Marie Maas on June 12, 1935, in Nicollet. They farmed in Nicollet County, and he also did tiling. He retired in 1993. His wife died in 1987. He entered the nursing home in October 1999. Arnie Dahms, 63, of Redwood Falls died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at the Redwood Falls Hospital. Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in rural Redwood Falls with military rites by the American Legion, V.F.W. and National Guard units of Redwood Falls. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and continues on Thursday from 8:30-1:30 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association. He is survived by his wife LaMae of Redwood Falls; daughter, Melissa Ruschmeyer and husband Dan and their son Carson of Eagle Lake ; brothers and sisters; Elmer Dahms and wife Emma of Clements, Lee Dahms and wife Zerelda of Redwood Falls, Delores Mertz and husband Floyd of Hecla, S.D., Lenard Dahms and wife Elaine of Redwood Falls, Donald Dahms and wife Germaine of Clements, Meta Tordsen and husband Glen of Waterloo, Iowa, Anna Mae Ness of Riverside, Calif., Arthur Dahms and wife Florence of Ada, Okla., and Gerald Dahms and wife Helen of Bertha; and many nieces and nephews. He was born on Jan. 2, 1936, in Redwood Falls to Clarence and Pauline (Lyle) Dahms. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School 1954. He served in the Army. He married LaMae Haseleu on June 9, 1962, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Springfield. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Berniece Kastner, 84 of Lamberton, died Monday Dec. 27, 1999. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton City Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, and will continue one hour before the service at the church. She is survived by her husband, Armin of Lamberton; sister, Lila Ness of Webster, Wis.; brother, Donald and his wife Arlis Quiring of Lamberton; sisters-in-law, Loretta Quiring of Lamberton, Shirley Quiring of Bloomington, Calif., and Edna Erickson of Pharr, Texas; brother-in-law, Elmer Kastner of McIntosh; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leona Mattison, Vivian Quiring and Lilace Quiring; brothers Elton, Lawrence and Walter Quiring. She was born July 17, 1915, in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, to Peter J. and Mena (Ellingson) Quiring. She attended country school. She married Armin G. Kastner on March 12, 1944, at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton. The couple farmed west of Lamberton. They moved into Lamberton in 1984. She became a resident of Valley View Nursing Home in March. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, WELCA, and Altar Guild. She and her husband served as custodians at the church for many years. Stephen Fox , 56, of Madelia died Dec. 27, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Madelia with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Fox of Madelia; brothers, Richard of Belle Plaine and William and wife Cari of Shakopee; nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his father. He was born Feb. 22, 1943, of Jack and Elizabeth (Cooling) Fox in Madelia. He was handicapped from birth and lived at the REM home in Madelia. Gerald Jacobson , 61, of 309 S. Washington, New Ulm, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at New Ulm Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Lucile Jones, 90, of New Ulm died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Marlin M. Langhorst, 78, of Shakopee, formerly of rural Courtland, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at his home in Shakopee. Services are 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Shakopee with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Friday. Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue 9-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Christ Lutheran Church in Shakopee. He is survived by companion, Vivian Wilkinson of Shakopee; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and John Woolery of Apple Valley, and Debra and Roger Toomey of Simpsonville, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Christine Langhorst of Shakopee; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Vera Hulke of Elgin, Ill., Ardella Austad of Lakeville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Verone Langhorst of Gaylord, Wallace and Delores Langhorst of Savage; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Langhorst on May 14, 1996; sister, Loretta Ginkel; brothers-in-law, Ervin Hulke, Kris Austad, and George Ginkel. He was born April 16, 1921, in Courtland Township, Nicollet County to Martin and Alwina (Voges) Langhorst. He attended Courtland Township School. He married Dorothy Weller on March 21, 1939 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Courtland Township, Nicollet County. They farmed in rural Bernadotte, Courtland and Nicollet townships until 1948. He then he owned and operated the Lakeville Hatchery in Lakeville until 1961. He owned and operated "The 55 Club and Bar in Loretto until 1965. He worked for Bloedel Monument, selling monuments, then later he ran the Peavey Commodities in New Ulm for 12 years. He moved to Minneapolis in 1991 and to Shakopee on July 3, 1998. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Shakopee, the Red Stone Sportsman Club of rural New Ulm and Courtland areas, a former Lakeville volunteer fireman. He played tuba in various bands around New Ulm. Marcella Zins, 87, of Hutchinson, formerly of New Ulm, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at her home. Mass of Christian burial is 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and at the church one hour prior to the service. There will be a CCW rosary at 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 8:15 p.m. today at the funeral home. Helen R. Sellner , 75, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Sleepy Eye. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. A combined Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid Association rosary is at 4 p.m. Thursday and a parish prayer service is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Kenosha, Wis., to Joseph P. and Louise (Schwinghammer) Dietz. At the age of five, her family moved to Springfield. Two years later, the family moved to Sleepy Eye. She attended St. Mary's School and graduated in 1942. She worked Pietrus Egg Drying Plant for several years and for a short time at Del Monte. She married Andrew Sellner on Oct. 7, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple farmed south of Sleepy Eye. Jean Doyle, 59, of Welcome and formerly of Albert Lea and Butterfield, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis. Arrangements are pending with Kramer Family Funeral Home in Welcome.
