Noel W. Blaser, 89, of Gaylord, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Gaylord Lakeview Nursing Home. Services are 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 9-11 a.m., Friday, at the church. Arrangements are handled by Egesdal Funeral Home. He is survived by wife Helen Blaser of Gaylord; son Noel Blaser Jr. of Billings, Okla; daughters, Patricia Baas of Monroe, La. and Betty Jean Bruss of Buffalo Lake; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was born June 6, 1914, in Sibley Township, Sibley County, to Emil and Ida (Froehlich) Blaser. Stella J. Carlson, 95, of Mountain Lake, formerly of Odin, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2004 at Kansas Lake Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Kansas Lake Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday, at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James and 7:30- 8:30 a.m., Friday at the church. She was born Nov. 11, 1908, to Nels Emil and Ida C. (Johnson) Anderson in rural St. James. She is survived by sons, Wallace of St.James and Charles of Richardson, Texas; daughters, Harriet Luker of San Jose del Cabo, Mexico; Annette Schipp of Mankato; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; one stepgreat-great-grandson; and brother, Walter Anderson of Darfur. William J. (Bill) Eicthen, 89, of St. Paul, formerly of Wanda, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at New Harmony Care Center in St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Church of St. Columba, 1327 LaFond Ave., St. Paul, with burial in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., today at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Road B, and at the church one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. He is survived by sisters, Viola Timm of Roseville, Josepha Wurscher of Lino Lakes and Cecelia Reimer of New Ulm. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. Dorothy M. Romberg , 92 ,of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Sleepy Eye Care Center. Service will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Wednesday, December 31, at 10:30 a.m. The Clergy will be Rev. Bruce J. Naumann. Interment will be at the Home Cemetery Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye on Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family via www.sturmfh.com Dorothy was born on Aug. 31, 1911, in Stark Township, Brown County, Minn., the daughter of Henry & Lucy (Alwin) Marti. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School and then completed her Normal Training. Dorothy taught District 23 Rural School for five years. She married Carl T. Romberg on Oct. 10, 1934, in Sleepy Eye. The couple lived and farmed in Home Township for many years. They retired and moved to Sleepy Eye in 1978. Dorothy was a charter member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active as an organist, choir member and part of the ladies group. She also was a member of the Sleepy Eye Hospital Auxiliary and the Progressive Homemakers Extension Group. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons, Glenn and Marion Romberg, Charles and Sally Romberg; daughter-in-law, Karen and Tim Beech, all of Sleepy Eye; daughter, Jane and Richard Aukrust of Hanska; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Oliver Marti of Sleepy Eye; sisters-in-law, Gladys Marti of Alexandria, Evelyn Kratzke of Renville, and Mildred Cooley of North Mankato. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl; son, Robert; brothers, Vernon and Eldon; and a daughter in infancy.
