   Bertha (Mrs. Lyle) Muehlbauer,77, of rural New Ulm died Wednesday December 29, 1999 at the Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Sociey will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
   She is survived by her husband, Lyle of rural New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Marlys and James McLean of Andover; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Susan Muehlbauer of Sleepy Eye; brothers and sister-in-law, Leonard Sellner, and Clement and Dorothy Sellner, all of Sleepy Eye; sisters and brother-in-law, Clara Schroepfer, Amelia Heitzer, all of Sleepy Eye, Catherine and Harold Johnson of New Ulm, and Martha Weber, and Angeline and Lester Weber all of Gibbon, and Anna Hacker of Lafayette.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, Albert, Christopher, Edmund, and Florian Sellner; and sisters, Mary Moldan, and Mathilda Blumhoefer.
   She was born Feb. 4, 1922 in Albin Township, Brown County to Christopher and Marianna (Schloegl) Sellner. She attended country school in Albin Township, Brown County, and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye. She received her teaching degree at the Mankato Teachers College in Mankato and taught elementary education both at Albin and Mulligan Township Country Schools. She married Lyle Muehlbauer June 16, 1948 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They farmed for 40 years in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, where she was a homemaker. They remained on the farm after they retired. She taught religious education at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity for nine years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

   Judith Ann Kintzi, 57 of New Ulm died December 27.
   A memorial service is planned for some time after January 8. A notice of service time will appear in a future edition.
   She is survived by her father, Karl Kintzi of Gaylord; brother Kevin Kintzi of Gaylord; four nephews, two nieces, nine great nieces and nephews and many friends.
   She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Women of Today and People First of New Ulm; she worked aat MRCI in New Ulm and took part in the EASE program. She also participated in the ARC bowling program and the Special Olympics.

   Lt. Col. Robert L. Buenger, 79, of Sacramento, formerly of New Ulm, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Sacramento.
   Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Sacramento Garden Chapel Mortuary, 6100 Stockton Blvd., with entombment in the Sacramento Memorial Lawn Mausoleum.
   Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at mortuary.
   He is survived by his wife, Mary R. Buenger of Sacramento; his children, Lizabeth Loughry-Warren of Sacramento, Barbara Marvelli of Reno, Nev., Lowell Cary of San Francisco, and Nancy McNaughton of Newport Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; sister, Doris Spelbrink of New Ulm.
   He was born in New Ulm, and lived in the Sacramento area since 1970 after completing a 29 year career with the U.S. Air Force as a pilot, serving in three wars.
   Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimers Association, 2222 Watt Ave., Sacramento, Calif. 95825.

   Ralph Jones, 92, of Gaylord, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at the Gaylord Lakeview Home.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Church of Christ in Gaylord, with burial in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   He is survived by his wife, Florence Jones of Gaylord; sons, Bruce A. Jones and Sue Lovell of St. Louis Park, and Douglas R. and wife Sarah Jones of Edina; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Laura Jenkins of Winnebago; a sister-in-law, Amelia Gleason of Slayton; and a brother-in-law, Leland Priebe of Hadley; and many nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
   He was born Dec. 7, 1907, in Judson Township, Blue Earth County, rural Mankato, to Richard F. and Mary (Jones) Jones. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1928. He married Florence Priebe on June 10, 1931, at the Priebe homestead in rural Slayton. He was employed by Mueller Brothers Ford in Mankato. He purchased the Ford dealership in Gaylord in 1939. He owned and operated Ralph Jones Motor Sales until 1976. He was active in his community, and held many leadership roles in the United Church of Christ. He was a charter member of the Gaylord Rotary Club, a member of the Gaylord City Council, the Mason Lodge IOOF, Gaylord Community Development Corporation, and Gaylord Public School Board of Education.
   Memorials are preferred to the United Church of Christ and the Gaylord Rotary.

   Selmer Johnson, 90, of St. James, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center, St. James.
   Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Butternut, with burial in the Butternut Valley Cemetery.
   Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and one hour prior to services at the church.
   He is survived by four nieces; three nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
   He was born March 29, 1909, in Butternut Valley Township, Watonwan County, to Elias and Johanna (Moe) Johnson. He grew up in rural Madelia and attended rural schools. He farmed in rural Madelia until retiring in 1975. He moved into Madelia in 1986. he was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Butternut.

   Lois Hoffbeck, 68, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 29 at the Redwood Falls Hospital.
   Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Gilfillan, with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m.Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church.
   She is survived by her husband Norman of Redwood Falls and four children; Betty Essig of Aurora, Colorado, James Hoffbeck of Jackson, Joanne Christensen and husband Chris of Redwood Falls and Dennis Hoffbeck of Morgan. Also surviving are four grandchildren; a brother, Charles Ziegenhagen and his wife Judy of Marshall.
   She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Leona Ziegenhagen.
   She was born on Feb. 16, 1931 in Morgan Twp., Redwood County, to Francis and Leona (Hammermeister) Ziegenhagen. She attended schools in Rowena and rural Morgan.She married Norman Hoffbeck April 26, 1947 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Gilfillan. They resided in Morgan Township where they farmed for 43 years until moving to Redwood Falls in 1990. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church holding various offices and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Redwood Falls Senior Citizens and was a Hospice volunteer.

   Stanley M. Sobocinski, 85 of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at his home in Sleepy Eye.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
   Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
